If you keep hearing tall tales of Authentic Italian food and can't help but doubt it, this is a great place to do your fact-checks. We had * pizza Mamma * pizza Diavola * prosciutto with mozzarella * raw red prawn * red and white dry house wine * espressos... and I highly recommend every one. #1 is the best way of using aubergines that I've ever tasted #2 had the spiciness delivered via salami with black pepper, resulting in clear punchy aromas Both pizzas delivered on what you might expect going to Italy - the light super thin dough and dedicated types of cheese in perfect doses... each could also be lunch on its own - at 6€ price tag. #3 had noticeably more flavourful prosciutto than any we tried on the UK but the real epiphany was mozzarella. We have heard of it, but... #4 was the first time I tried raw prawn and were my least favourite; still it did appear to be very fresh and high quality I loved both wines. Not an expert, so I'll just say they were smooth, fruity and refreshing. The free "while you wait" consisted of thick slices of continental bread. The "organic artisan sourdough loaf" you'll get in the UK has a long way to go yet. Service appeared less caring/polite than what I remember from the UK, Poland, Paris, New York or Cape Town, but still friendly and they did speak some basic English. The outside seating suffered from occasional traffic exhaust and a degree a cramping, but that's it.

We had lunch after visiting the botanical gardens. we read mixed reviews for this place and it was confusing because there seem to be many opposite opinions. This leads me to believe the morning shift and night shift are run by different staff. Anyhow we are local and we speak Italian, but the service was not great nonetheless. The waiters are low-key rude and absolutely uninterested as is sadly typical in many Neapolitan establishments, however they were present and we didn't feel abandoned. We ordered pasta with mussels and lemon which was very delicious, and grilled treglia (fish) which was also nice. Another thing we found strange was that they have a dish on the menu with fresh pasta and fresh fish for the price of 120 euros(!) But when we asked for some salt they didn't have shakers but rather those 1 gram paper bags of salt you would get in very low-end places. A pleasant surprise: the price of one of the dishes was 15euro on the menu but 10 on the bill. I guess that could've gone either way though. We have both worked in the service industry for years so we tip even when the service isn't really that great, but I must say we didn't get a thank you or a goodbye. All in all we would return because the pasta was delicious, reasonably priced, and seafood is absolutely fresh.

Wow! Orribile! My husband and I are world traveling foodies. We've done the backpack roughing it trips as we've done the ultra refined...we're very adaptable & been to almost all continents. This place for service and treatment was the worst we've ever experienced. We showed up on a Sunday 3:30pm, the owner seemed super aggravated by this. Had he said "sorry the kitchen closes soon" we would have been fine with that. But instead he pointed at a seat and gave us massive pressure/attitude the entire time! The bag of bread was literally thrown at our table. We wanted pizza and he straight out said no. I ordered the €11 lobster linguini and he basically said it's for two, walked away and didn't give us much choice...my husband isn't much of a seafood person so basically being bullied into it wasn't great. We ordered red wine....mine tasted like vinegar...my husband didn't find/mind so he ordered a second...the second was watered down with sparkling water!! When the bill arrived he charged us €15 each for the meal even though it was €11 on the menu!

Rude/Shady and the food was mediocre. Unless you're a local, you'll feel like a major inconvenience & you'll get ripped off....
