Il Gelato Mennella — Restaurant in Naples

we've been coming here for 2 years but today I had one of the worst customer service experience.

I was looking at the display case of gelato and the male staff kept hurrying me and I told him in italian to wait. so he walked off and I went to pay for my gelato before picking the flavours.

I asked for yogurt to be topped on my small ice cream cone and the female staff told me because the chocolate is too soft (morbido) and won't support the yogurt topping. I insisted and she looked at the male staff who then said yogurt is finito (finished) when there is whole tub filled to the brim of yogurt in the display. I asked how can it be finito when its there, he said finito finito. he then went on to blast loud music to drown my voice out.

First of all, on the ice cream menu it has clearly stated that customer can opt for panna or yogurt topping on their ice cream. my problem with the whole experience is the lying of yogurt is too soft to be topped on chocolate gelato and then the lying of yogurt is finished when there is one full tub of it, left quite a bitter taste.

if yogurt is finished, the staff could have offered panna. or if they are running low on gelato, which half of the display shelf is gone at 5pm today, they could have been honest upfront about it to the customer and state that due to lack of supply, they won't be able to offer the topping of yogurt and be prepared to offer panna to the customer as a solution.

Delicious! We went tonight at about 10pm, and there was no queue but still plenty of people coming and going. The man who served us was friendly, and the prices were great! €2.50 for a small cone with two flavours, and that was huge. There were over 20 flavours to choose from.
