Karmacore — Restaurant in Naples

Tired and thirsty after a long visit to the archaeological museum, we looked for a cafe. We were surprised by a cute little place 2 blocks away with fresh flowers on the table and a piano in the room. There seemed to be only one white and one red wine available by the glass but my companions gave both a thumbs up for taste and value. There were many more wines available only by the bottle. Schweppes limon ia not available in the US so that was my choice. Accompanying our beverages were tiny bowls of peanuts, pretzels and potato chips. And the snacks kept coming: a board with roasted zucchini speared with fresh cheese and sprinkled with chilli flakes, eggplant, and cheese on a tiny piece of bread with a bit of olive oil. Just as we were finishing our beverages the waiter brought another small plate...

Great looking place, nice music and polite staff. Nevertheless, it is overpriced for tourists: 14€ for two regular beers (we did not ask for, ordered or ate any meal/dish/appetiser). When I asked the reason of such high prize, the guy literally shrugged and said: “Il servizio”. Guys, this is not the way to treat people. Sono entrato la prima volta per caso al Karmakore. Serata tranquilla, qualche mese fa. Volevo un gin tonic.

Primo impatto tranquillo, bar accogliente e personale gentile. Avevo intenzione di camminare a piedi e di prendere il drink da asporto, ma la bartender insistette perché non voleva servire il drink nella plastica. Potrei fermarmi qui a scrivere.

Mi face un gin tonic curato nei dettagli. Servito ancora meglio. La musica era quella giusta, le persone che arrivavano erano tranquille. Si stava bene. Passai lì il resto della serata.

Ad oggi non posso fare a meno di venire qui almeno una volta a settimana. L’incredibile capacità di Lisa di gestire il bar come se fosse un rifugio dove puoi divertirti, sfogarti (non aspettarti incontri con psicologi. Qui si fa baldoria) bere davvero bene, e ritagliarti qualche momento in buona compagnia.

A proposito. Il giovedì sera è baldoria pura tutto l’anno....
