For my first dinner in Napoli, I was tempted by Pescheria Azzurra's premise of high quality seafood in a rustic, energetic setting. Upon arrival at 10pm the restaurant was packed, and after a short wait, we were ushered to a table. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu, especially excited for the fried seafood and a mussel and pecorino pasta dish. First to arrive were small bites consisting of fried zucchini and eggplants in a tomato based sauce. I found both dishes tasty, especially the latter, which benefited from the high quality of tomatoes. Next to arrive in succession was an octopus in a tomato and basil sauce and the platter of fried seafood. Both dishes were rather disappointing, the octopus tough and overly acidic and the fried seafood boring after the first few bites. The last dish placed on the table, and the definite highlight of the meal was a a simple but incredible dish of spaghetti and mussels. Coated in a mixture of olive oil, pecorino and a seafood flavour from the mussels, each bite was rich and delicious and only accentuated by the odd parsley leaf and mussel. In contention with another dish I had sampled in Sorrento a few days prior, the spaghetti was one of the best I've ever had. Overall, while each element at Pescheria Azzurra didn't wow, it was hard not to leave feeling more than satisfied by the quality of the pasta we had sampled and the convivial, rustic atmosphere.

Really wonderful street food seafood restaurant in Naples! Naples is known for its pizza, but people should not sleep on its seafood and pasta, and this is the best place to get just that. The service was quick and friendly, we had to wait five minutes to be seated after arriving with no reservation but this was no problem, as there was additional seating and we could drink while we waited. This bustling restaurant spills out onto its street, with the occasional passer-by being enticed into its positive atmosphere. The food itself was absolutely delicious. We opted for the Fritto Misto to start, and had the Spaghetti Con Mezza Astice & Spaghetti Con Frutti di Mare. All dishes were excellent, and the half lobster pasta [pictured] actually being half a lobster was really great. The portion size was generous without being overwhelming, and the restaurant itself seemed clean and inviting. Impressivly the restaurant doubles as a fishmonger, which just means that all of the ingredients are as fresh as can be. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who finds themselves in Naples.

We ate two times in this place and it was wonderful! I could enjoy the meal in this place every day. The fish is fresh and cooked tasty. The long line of people waiting for a table shows how popular the restaurant is. It is a fishstore and restaurant together. Be aware that google shows the working hours of the store. In you come to eat at 4pm the restaurant will be closed, it will open at 7pm. Once you are here please tell your name and number of people with you to the waiter. He will call you once your turn is coming. Waiting in a line for 15 min is worthy. The menu is both in Italian and English. Payments by cards are accepted. All plates are very good. I ate octopus salad during the first visit and little octopus cooked with tomatoes during the second visit. There are no photos because the food smelled so good that I forgot about photos at all.

I recently visited and tried a few dishes, including the clam spaghetti and the mixed seafood plate, both of which were quite decent. The service was also fine and attentive. However, I was very disappointed with the spaghetti with half a lobster. When the plate arrived, the lobster meat had already been scooped out from the shell, including the claw meat, and there were only about two bites of lobster in total. For €20, it seemed too good to be true, and now I understand why. Normally, we pay €60-100 per kg for lobster at other restaurants, so this was quite misleading. It's a shame because the food isn’t bad overall, but I would much rather pay a higher price for a dish that actually delivers on what’s advertised, instead of feeling short changed. Hopefully, this feedback helps improve the offering for future customers.
