Was really excited for this place but the awkward experience we had made it very uncomfortable to be there. We arrived on a Wednesday night... There were two staff members (maybe 3) standing and making conversation with the two tables that appeared to be their friends. On several occasions, during the 5 mins, that we awkwardly stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge us, they'd make eye contact and appear to walk towards us but would walk past us and go hang out at the tables. Eventually, I saw the sign by the entrance that said "order inside". So I walked inside and after a couple mins of awkwardly standing at the ordering counter (without being acknowledged) I just told the guy what we wanted and asked where we could sit outside. He was very curt and not friendly at all. We ordered Aperol spritz... They were delicious and pretty cheap (4.5 euro). The experience of sitting in the alley way cool but the furniture was rickety and uncomfortable.. especially considering the slant. I'm really shocked by how unfriendly Bruno and his staff were considering all the amazing reviews they've gotten about how friendly and lovely they are. Maybe it was my girlfriend's pink hair? Maybe it was local's night? Maybe they have something against Americans and thought we were Americans. It was...
Read moreIn order to justify high prices a bar should have a combination of at least two of the following criteria : good location/good looking place good service good quality
Spuzzule Winebar is a good looking spot, in a nice area. Yet : the quality of the drinks are SO DISAPPOINTING. I don't like to make quick judgements but there is no way the owner thinks his wines are worth 5€ a glass. (These are Paris prices) I tried two wine and my companion had one beer. None of them were half good. It is very important for the owner to improve the quality of the drinks and maybe stop some partnerships he has with a few brands, because they are not tasty. The service : I can't say service is bad, it would be a lie. But given that there's only a few tables, given that the prices of the drinks are really high, I think the least that should be done is for the customers to be able to order AND be served at the table and not at the bar.
So yep in the end there's a lot to do to improve this place. We...
Read moreDisgusting behavior that shouldn’t be condoned by any customer!! The bartender attacked physically and verbally a male tourist (he attempted to beat him up with a stool from his bar, and also punched him against the wall). We had to interfere to stop him from hurting him. The tourist only wanted to buy cigarettes with his help from a vending machine located in front of the bar and apparently the bartender felt « intimidated » for some reason...(was it because the tourist was gay?). The shocking thing was that NONE of the locals found this « toxic macho » behavior wrong and reacted. The bartender claimed that the tourist was rude to him, which was a lie (since we witnessed the scene). We sense the reason was PURE HOMOPHOBIA. Please, never support this business, these people don’t deserve to keep their bar up and running since they treat people...
