A very, very small store in the heart of Naples that serves Fried Pizza. Apparently, it is well known in the area and there is normally a line out the door waiting to be served.
It is a takeout only place and when we ordered lunch a few days ago we were given a number of 143 that we were supposed to use to retrieve our order. At that time, they were currently serving order number 115 and it took at least 45 minutes to receive our food.
There is no place to sit while you wait for your order so everyone is forced to stand outside which causes a tremendous amount of congestion trying to get in and out of the restaurant. In fact, it was so crowded that you could not even walk on the sidewalk in front of the establishment.
Thankfully, it was a very pleasant day in the 60's when we went there, but I can imagine that on a hot day with the sun beating down that it would be a miserable experience to have to wait so long for your food.
I am sure many people from Naples may not like this, but the food was OK at best. Basically, the fried pizza is like eating a large stuffed donut about 10 inches long and 3-4 inches wide. All of the toppings slide to the bottom as soon as you start eating it, so the first half of the product is nothing but dough.
We had five people in our party and while we were glad we tried this restaurant (due to the hype) we all said that we would have no good...

Picture this: pizza dough lovingly stuffed with ricotta, provola, salami, and sauce, then yeeted into a vat of hot oil until it comes out golden, puffed, and smelling like regret and dreams. You’re handed this glorious food pillow in wax paper while your brain goes, “Yes. This. Is. It.”
Biting into it is like being slapped in the face by a delicious cloud. A hot, cheesy, deep-fried cloud. It’s messy. It’s melty. It’s one wrong grip away from total shirt destruction. But you won’t care. Because this thing tastes like Naples shouting directly into your mouth.
Now, let’s be honest—it’s a heavy boy. Don’t plan on doing anything productive afterwards. You eat one of these and your only goal for the next two hours is to find shade and rethink your life choices.
Final verdict: An experience? Yes. A meal? Also yes. Will you feel full? For three days. Will you go back? Probably not… but only because you physically can’t move.
10/10, would get...
Read moreThis place is terrible. The experience is awful. They do not care with their customers. I had been in Italy for about two weeks and had various problems but this one in this restaurant, Sorbillo was unacceptable, they were supposed to be one of the best "fried pizza" restaurants in Naples and Italy but , NO. First of all they don't know English in this very touristy city they have respect they are dirty, and they just doesn't make the thing work. I ordered and waited for half an hour after the payment for my "fried pizza" than when it was my turn (there is a system where you get a " ticket" with a number on which is your "turn" which is than displayed on a screen ) I gave my ticket to the worker and he basically ignored it and gave pizzas to others. I waited for five minutes than I asked for it politely of course they don't know English so they didn't understand I told them what happened but nope, than a woman who knows bother Italian and English helped it out and we solved it got my pizzas was ok but awful service.
WASTE OF TIME AND...
