We sat and ordered two cokes whilst deciding what to have, whilst looking at the menu an unbearable loud drilling sound and vibrating wall next to our table from building work started. We explained to the staff this was unbearable for lunch and asked to pay and leave, we were given a bill with an additional cover charge of €2 each added, whilst I understand this is usual when sitting at a table, we didn't sit as intended due to the noise and inconvenience, we sat all of 5 mins before requesting our bill and leaving, had we known we would not have had drinks at all. The staff were not understanding at all and quite abrupt, we tried our best to explain but they were not understanding and didn't care, so after 9€ for two cokes in five mins, then my only option is to leave a 1 star review. Not good, they should at least warn customers before trapping you and demanding you pay an additional cover for the...
Read moreLucky accident. I forget that when traveling in Italy during Ferragosto, even highly rated eateries will be closed for vacation. Case in point with a highly rated restaurant up the street called "A Cucina Ra Casa Mia". Got there and it was closed. We were hungry. Maybe bad pizza, like bad espresso, bad sfogliatelle and bad gelato are really hard to find in Naples. Lucky for us we didn't have to test out this hypothesis. The place was crowded but we got a seat in the front. There appears to be a back and an upstairs. We ordered margarita pizza, a four cheese type pizza and a romana. A place of fried seafood, and a plate of assorted fried appetizers including arancini and potato croquettes. Food was excellent and the price reasonable. Aperol spritzes seem to be the current craze. We ordered one and it, wasn't that good. Probably just a one-off. But it didn't take away from the excellent food...
Read morePizza was amazing! We started with the fried pizza which was not what I expected. It was basically a calzone minus the ricotta but was delicious. Then I had the La Soldino and that was absolutely delicious!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. My son had the Diavalo and said it was equally as good. We were seated in the corner by the front door so it took a bit for the waiter to realize we were there which was fine but the part that was really distasteful was one of the employees (maybe the owner who knows) would go stand at the front door smoking repeatedly throughout our dinner. It was really off putting. I understand people in Europe smoke a lot but to smoke while people are eating is really inconsiderate. This isn’t the only place that has done that. Maybe take your pizza to go if you don’t like the smoke. But the pizza...
