My girlfriend and I had an amazing time here. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was cozy and nice, and the staff were incredibly friendly.
When we showed up, we just happened to have one of the waiters greet us at the door right as I asked my partner if this was the place, and the waiter said proudly, and jokingly, that of course this was the place.
We sat down and as my partner tends to do, she started talking and asking about what was popular and which of the dishes were traditional, which lead to a wonderful experience of them telling us about the different pastas they use, and what they blend well with.
We order our things, and after very little waiting we get our starters. Meatballs for me and Mozzarella for my partner. I have never liked Mozzarella, but we like to share and try each others items, so I had a go, and damn was that cheese good! The meatballs were fantastic too.
We get to our mains, where we had each picked different pastas, which made a big difference both for experience and taste.
We had not decided to have desert beforehand, but now that we had finished, we didn't want to leave, so I decided to have some chocolate coconut balls and a very old traditional style cup of coffee.
As the balls and coffee arrived, we were told the intricate and very subtle method of why and how this coffee brewing method is so special which only made it all the more exciting to try. It was AMAZING, by the way.
An experience I will never forget, thank you so...
Read moreI wanted to try this restaurant for I like the idea of a ragù food chain. Well, maybe they went too far. Nice but not smart decorations and location, very polite waiter and manager, clean and organized. But the food is soulless, standardized, not well presented, and not really appealing both to the eyes and to the tongue. A menu with several choices but when the same ragù is used on many different plates the flavors are flattened by this same sauce rather than enhanced. The sauce: the restaurant makes its concept around it, so I had expected a good sauce, but not quite so. It is a bitter, overcooked, a bit burned, unappealing sauce which it is clearly produced in large quantities with a standardized method that in my opinion doesn’t deliver good results. Wine by the glass: nothing memorable but hey we are in Italy it is not difficult to find good products. I hope this review will foster the management of this nevertheless appealing concept and keep for the moment some customer off the experience ‘cause in Naples there are thousands of places with much better pasta with Neapolitan ragù than this. I will add that many of the reviews are in my opinion obviously fake, this restaurant for the moment does not deserve...
Read moreTandem Ragù is more than just a place for food. It is a space where human interaction and southern warmth come together naturally.
I recently started visiting new places by simply walking in and asking if I could use the restroom. It may sound unusual, but it gives me a real sense of how staff handle unexpected and authentic situations. At Tandem Ragù, the response was genuine and kind. That was enough for me to stay, and of course, I ordered something afterward.
I shared a bit of my personal background with Salvatore, and without hesitation, he proposed something different. He introduced me to 'A Livella, a beer crafted in Naples that reminds some of Guinness in style, but carries its own unique story. It is produced exclusively by Birrificio Maneba, a brewery that collaborates only with this brand.
As a creative chef, I am always open to discovering new products. Regardless of my personal taste preferences, I deeply appreciate the effort and identity behind locally made items.
Tandem Ragù is not only about what is on the menu. It is about how you are received and what you discover when you...
