We were very happy to try this place, and felt lucky they had room for us, but we left very disapointed.. To be honest we did not understand the choices of the Chef.. Our starters had funny association of ingredients that in our opinion do not go well together the way they were prepared.. Then, the masched potatoes of the main course were cold and the chicken consisted of small pieces of chicken with a weird taste. The fried baccala was ok but no real taste.. We payed 80e for a dinner we unfortunately did not enjoyed.. Maybe it's cultural, because we see that other people seem to like it a lot.
Answer to the owner : I could not finish my first course, nor the mashes potatoes for my friend. We ate what we could since we were pretty hungry. We gave you feedback about the potatoes, but you did not seem to care. We should have gave you more feedback about the first courses, but it is always complicated to say such truths.. 1 star because for us, it is not possible to have that kind of food in a restaurant. Some friends went the same week, we knew it randomly the next day day while telling them our bad experience, and they had felt the exact same ! I m really sorry because I guess it's hard work for you, but for some customers your high ranking is not representative at all, and feels like a lie.. but once again, it might...
Read moreA nice, relaxing, quiet environment after the hustle and bustle of a long day. My boyfriend and I had just got into town and for us country folk, Naples was a little overwhelming at first.Taverna dell'Arte was perfect for us! The staff was kind and friendly. They spoke English very well, and gave us some great recommendations. We had the fried foods from the list of appetizers, and they were overall great! It was nice getting a different taste of everything. Some were not our favorite, but we were happy to try them all. We would caution anybody with a full belly not to get this as it was a lot of fried bites that is easy to become full off of. For the entree, I had a spaghetti with octopus which came in a very interesting color palette. It was not my favorite out of everything I tried in Italy, but there's no doubt that it was prepared excellently. My boyfriend had the veal strips that came with some mashed potatoes. The potatoes had citrus integrated into them which made them honestly the feature of the night. If you get anything in Naples, always trust a meal with some citrus feature. Overall the food was great, and we really enjoyed...
Read moreI was really excited to go to this restaurant. I didn't succeed in making a reservation online so we just went by at 19:30. The waiter told us everything was full, but made an effort for us and was able to give us a table for 1.5 hours, which was perfect. So far the experience was good. However, we both only ordered pasta as we weren't very hungry (so no need for starters) and the waiter switched from kind to annoyed - as if we weren't worth the luxury of this restaurants. The pastas were absolutely amazing, but the portions were small (which is normal in luxury restaurants). Afterwards we also had deserts - 5 euros for a tiny creme brulee (but it was amazing). One of the deserts was charged twice but I didn't want to mention it as the waiters made us feel like we shouldn't be there anyway. I feel like we deserved to be treated better as we are paying customers who left after an hour so that the table could be used again - even if we didn't get four courses or whatever. It's too bad because the location is super nice and the food...
