I recently had the pleasure of dining at Transatlantico Restaurant Hotel Caffe in Naples, Italy, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our group consisted of 10 people, which can often be a challenge when it comes to finding seating in restaurants. However, at Transatlantico, we encountered no such difficulties. The manager, Antono Boss, was more than happy to accommodate us and swiftly arranged a spacious area for our group right along the water's edge.
Upon being seated, we noticed that half of the table was exposed to direct sunlight, which could have been problematic. However, Antono quickly came to our rescue. He promptly instructed his staff to extend the awning, effectively blocking the sun and ensuring our comfort. This attentiveness to detail and customer satisfaction was truly commendable.
In addition to our group size, we had the added challenge of three individuals with varying dietary restrictions. It's not uncommon for restaurant staff to become frustrated when faced with such demands, but not at Transatlantico. Antono's team handled our dietary requirements with ease and grace, never batting an eye. Their ability to accommodate our needs seamlessly impressed us all.
Now let's talk about the food, which was absolutely outstanding. At Transatlantico, you'll be hard-pressed to find fresher fish anywhere else. We witnessed fishermen rowing their small one-man fishing boats up to the dock, where Antono personally greeted them, inspected their catch, and paid them. The fresh fish was then promptly handed to the staff to prepare immediately. This level of dedication to sourcing the finest ingredients was evident in every bite.
As for my own dining experience, I started with the steamed mussels as an appetizer, which were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I opted for a vegetable pizza with a side of mushrooms, and I was not disappointed. The pizza was cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust and a delightful combination of fresh vegetables. Paired with a glass of white wine, it was a culinary delight.
What truly impressed me, though, was that not a single person in our group of ten was unhappy with their meal. The quality of the food, combined with the excellent service and attention to detail, ensured that every dish exceeded our expectations.
Furthermore, the experience at Transatlantico doesn't end with the food. As night falls, the restaurant comes alive with a captivating atmosphere. The bright lights and live music draw you in from across the bay, creating a magical ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience.
In conclusion, Transatlantico Restaurant Hotel Caffe in Naples, Italy, offers a truly remarkable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the manager, Antono Boss, and his team went above and beyond to accommodate our large group and dietary restrictions. The freshness of the fish, the exquisite flavors of the dishes, and the captivating atmosphere all contribute to making Transatlantico a must-visit restaurant. Whether you're a seafood lover, a pizza aficionado, or simply seeking a memorable dining experience in Naples, this restaurant comes highly...
Read moreI‘m utterly disgusted and disappointed. I‘m an absolute oyster lover and I ordered some here. First off at restaurants they are usually prepped, these were not prepped so I had to loosen the oyster from the shell myself, not very good service. However it gets worse, I found parasites in one of the oysters. Had it sent back and the new oyster they sent out had a parasite in it AGAIN. I had a friend who’s a marine biologist take a look and he confirmed it is 100% a parasite. On top of that the restaurant didn’t even try to damage control the situation by properly apologizing or giving a discount. So we ended up having to pay for all the oysters eaten even though I certainly didn’t not feel comfortable after having eating them since I can’t be sure I missed parasites in to other ones I had before. It was a horrible experience. Will not be eating oysters in Naples again and most definitely not at this restaurant. Do not recommend and I will be going to a doctor as soon as I get home.
EDIT RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: As I wrote above I did point it out to the staff and had the first one sent back to the kitchen to get another. Also as mentioned, the second one had it again! Again I pointed it out to the staff however this time I told them I don’t want a replacement as I don’t feel comfortable eating them anymore. We even showed the worm to the staff, however they still did nothing to ease the situation. I initially ordered 7 oysters, the last one as I said I didn’t end up eating and sent it back clearly showing the parasite and we were charged for the other 6. So the staff was fully aware of the situation however did nothing about it. I would also like to point out that despite a HACCP control the kitchen staff should most definitely still check on the food served to the customers especially when it comes to raw seafood as it’s a huge health risk. You should really do...
Read moreIf you are on vacation, I highly recommend this hotel. As a business traveler, the location isn't idea and there isn't a business or fitness center. However, the view over the sea watching the sun rise over Vesuvius is amazing!
I start with the things I didn't like about the hotel and then get into the positives. The walls are thin in this hotel. Where my room was located I could hear people in the lobby and on the patio on the harbor side. There were some sliding glass doors to help block the sound, but they were out of order and stuck open when I was there. The second problem was that the bed was not very comfortable. Is was two mattresses and one was slightly tilted so throughout the night I was slip toward the edge. Lastly, if you drive, you will not be able to park near the hotel as it is walking only.
Now for the positives. As I said at the beginning, the view is amazing. If you wake up early enough you can watch the fisherman go out as the sun rises over Mt. Vesuvius. The hotel is well maintained and nicely appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and WiFi are complementary. Another nice perk is that just outside of the hotel, and I mean literally just outside, are a few additional restaurants that have fresh seafood and pizza. Plus you are in walking distance of downtown Naples and all of the great cuisine that can be found there.
When I go back to Naples, this will probably be my number one choice for a hotel to stay at, if for nothing else than sitting on the veranda watching the sun come up as I sip on my...
