Stayed three nights in this magnificent hotel as our last stop before returning back to the USA after a three week vacation.|Needless to say, by the time we arrived, we were already running on empty, so we didn't have high expectations and were ready to wind down. But sometimes a destination can surprise you in a fantastic way and that is what Naples/Napoli did for us as soon as we arrived. This hotel gave us|just the right amount of jolt that we needed to enjoy our last few days from the moment that we checked in.||Although the hotel itself is pricey for Naples, it was a lot less than what we had already paid at|much higher priced Amalfi Coast locales. This almost felt like a steal compared to those. That said, I found the service to be impeccable. The people who worked at the rooftop Lounge, breakfast room and concierge were outstanding. I especially liked the woman who worked in|the breakfast room who|remembered how I liked my coffee (with a side of mimosa) and my room number |each day without me having to tell her. The hotel itself combines old world charm in the|hotel lobby with a modern cosmopolitan vibe in the rooftop lounge and restaurant. It's location sits right on a very picturesque section of the Bay of Naples with Sorrento to your right and Mt Vesuvius to your left. My room was the deluxe |sea view which was not large but spacious enough to store two large luggages very comfortably.|The bathroom also had ample counter space. And the shower, jacuzzi bathtub and bed were heaven.|The location by the waterfront had many restaurants by the sea that were pleasant and within 10-15 minutes walking distance to piazza de plebiscito where you could find tons of street food, gift shops and more trattorias. The Old historic town is easier to get to by taxi.. concierge can call it for you with fixed pricing but uber works here as well. It is also a convenient location to go on boat excursions but we preferred to enjoy the 5 star amenities by spending time|at the rooftop solarium with the |outdoor plunge pool and pizza and aperol spritz overlooking the bay. Afterwards, before heading out to dinner, the rooftop solarium transformed into a vibey lounge and perfect spot to catch the sunset.||I did not have dinner at the rooftop restaurant but heard the food is amazing. We were more interested in having our last bit of Napletano casual seafare than fine dining before heading back home.|My only disappointment, through no fault of the hotel, was the adjacent castle that is currently undergoing renovations and was covered with scaffolding so I was cheated out of the terrific views when the castle is lit up. I hope to come back once the repairs have been completed. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Naples. I loved its grit, old world charm, authenticity and its people. Will definitely make this my go to place when I...
Read moreThe overall stay was a great experience, with majority of staff being friendly, great amenities, amazing food and lovely rooms.
The reception had great staff who were happy to help and always presented a smile. They were understanding on complications we had and were able to help and direct as much as possible.
The pool and gym area was great mainly for adults however I’m sure children would find a way to have fun. The staff member at the desk in particular was lovely and always so friendly making us feel very welcomed.
The restaurant was amazing from the food to the staff. The staff would not just take your order but also spark conversation which made everyone feel more welcomed. The food was absolutely fantastic, they even changed the look of the same dish each night so it didn’t look the same.
The sky bar was also a great experience and the star members being exceptional. For instance, my sister had left to go to the room for a minute and her pizza had arrived, the staff members took it away so it wouldn’t get cold and brought out a whole new pizza. Amazing.
Unfortunately the reason why I have given 4 stars is due to the breakfast. When greeted at the door there are no smiles or nice welcoming. Before I go further I have to mention the people making the omelettes and crepes were amazing and friendly which was something. There were three specific members that made us feel uncomfortable and unwanted which is something no one wants or expects. Two of the staff members were clearly inexperienced with waiting tables and we saw experienced staff members having to aid them which is fine of course but surely this should be taught previously. The three members would also all group together and talk amongst themselves, which I would deem as highly disrespectful. As a side note there were multiple when the fruit had flies around them which was also unfortunate.
Furthermore, the other member whose name was Giovanni, never smiles, made us feel uncomfortable, and when coming into the breakfast area turned his back to us as he had seen us come through. I have never felt such disgust when in a great hotel especially with what the rest of the hotel had to offer. It was highly disappointing and felt like a choir to deal with when going...
Read moreThis is a really great hotel for a number of reasons - the 2 most important
1: the first being there is plenty of room at the pool and it’s a really large pool which if you stay in central you don’t get - the pool is small often and no room to get a sun lounge etc
2: the views these were amazing because we were up the hill a little and we had fabulous views from our rooms, from the bar and from the pool
There is a shuttle bus that takes you from the hotel to the centre and back - it runs quite regularly which is fabulous. It is a large coach so plenty of room and it was easy to get in and out
You could catch a taxi …but being southern italy they may be a rip off so negotiate your price before you get in or you may pay much more
Our rooms were large very nicely furnished with a reasonable size bathroom and a balcony with a sea view
The views these was incredible and the staff at the hotel really wonderful
The restaurant was large and the food was just okay - breakfast was a typical italian breakfast which offered cakes coffee ham cheese fruit etc
Many English stay in the hotel and a few were very rude which was a shame but I guess you can get that in certain places - they were also rude to the staff and generally unhappy - maybe they should not travel !
The lunch at the pool bar was great - they severed toasted sandwiches which were large and came with chips - really you could share one for two people
The drinks were not too expensive at the bar or at the pool bar - at night they came with chips and peanuts etc which was good
Overall this hotel was a great stay ….very happy to...
