If you're in Noto for any time at all, having a meal at Nache is a must.
We were a group of 7, including a young child and as we didn't have a reservation, we showed up early just as Nache was opening for dinner service on a slightly rainy evening.
The waiters (whose names unfortunately we didn't catch) very kindly arranged the outside tables under the parasols to accommodate our awkwardly sized group as all their tables inside were reserved.
The staff were very attentive, making sure that we were comfortable and that we weren't getting wet. Come ordering time, they were more than happy to answer any questions about the menu and make recommendations for the 2 non-meat eaters in our group.
Already impressed with the accommodating and knowledgeable service that we'd received before any of the dishes had arrived, hopes were high that the food would be of the same excellent standard. Very thankfully, we were emphatically proven right. Everything that arrived at our table, starters (special mention for the potato skins/chips/peels, of all things), mains, wines and desserts was sublime.
On a trip where the cuisine was one of the great highlights, with many excellent meals and dishes across the 3 weeks I split amongst Sicily, Malta and Rome. This was the most memorable meal I had on the whole trip and the one I keep thinking about now that I'm back on the other side of the world, no longer...
Read moreNachè was definitely a surprise in Noto for us. Normally we go to the traditional known values like Damuso and Mana but Nachè surprised us that much that we have returned a second time. The restaurant has a nice terrace outside completely adapted to the slope. It is a nice place a bit off the main street which provides a cosyness. The first time we were going we were lucky because they have had next to their menu a fuori menu and it was a pasta with truffles and burrata. Mamma mia, what a delicious pasta 😋 As secondo I have had a turbot fillet and it was also delicious. However the truffle pasta was the highlight and made as return. The staff is very friendly, multilingual and trying hard to make the customer feel comfortable. The first visit we were a bit unlucky because we arrived with a bunch of people and had to wait almost an hour between starter and main course. However, the second visit showed that they manage a delicious cuisine in regular waiting times. The plates are not only well prepared, out of good quality but also nicely presented as you may see from the photos. This restaurant deserves my full recommendation for its beautiful presented plates, the quality food on the plates as well the friendly and professional staff. Nachè belongs now, in my perspective, among the best places in Noto if you look for an interesting food experience...
Read moreI recently dined at a restaurant in Noto, Sicily, expecting authentic and traditional food, but was disappointed by the experience.
The only highlight was the nice and friendly staff, who were welcoming and attentive. However, the food left much to be desired. To start, we had the Bao with tuna tartare, which was awful. The Bao buns were tough, and the tuna didn’t seem fresh.
The pasta dishes we tried were also not good. The Paccheri with prawn tartare had an overly powerful, fishy flavor that was off-putting. The spaghetti with chili oil and amberjack was strangely sweet, almost as if it had sugar syrup. The waiter did however kindly offer to replace the dish after I mentioned the strange flavour.
Despite the good reviews and ratings, we were surprised and disappointed by the quality of the food. Unfortunately, both of us felt nauseous after the meal. We wouldn't recommend this place, as it seems to cater more to tourists and lacks...
