When we stumbled upon Ritrovino while looking for a place to have some lunch we knew we were experiencing something special. Ritrovino is situated in a small uphill street along the main street of Noto and is ran by Gaetano (and family) and long time friend and oft-time colleague Roberto, and it became our home away from home while staying in Noto. These guys are masters of hospitality, with easily over half a century of experience between the two of them and it shows!
Roberto with his ready smile and easygoing attitude singing along with the great music will brighten up your day and Gaetano has a passion for wines that he loves to share. Let him, you will not regret it!
The food is amazing. Bold flavoured tapas and salads which have a very balanced and refined taste. And the deserts... We just could not get enough.
Our advice: you should add Ritrovino to your must visit list when in Noto. Prepare to have a wonderful day and spend way more time there than you originaly intended and leave nourished to full in soul and body.
We had a couple of amazing visits to Ritrovino and think this place deserves a place in the spotlight. Thank you for everything guys and good luck in the future! We will be back for sure, but it might take us a couple years to come back to...
Read moreDisappointing. Based on the review we expected a nice dine out with good wines, but in the end it was the worst spent money in our 3-day trip in Noto. By tapas you get similar tasting and looking ragus with white bread. Brought to your table on dishes with a candle that heats your ragu from cold to burning hot. A full hour passed between our arrival to the bar and the food on our table. Bread is cut and handled bare handed without gloves by un inexperienced waitress who also forgets to bring plates, water and the soft drink I asked. Only the wine for my husband was served but was poured in his glass like water, including the last drops turning the top of the bottle to the ceiling. It could be comic but in a not-at-all-cheap wine bar it's at least embarrassing. Wine itself was according to each one's taste - I grew up in a wine region, and I was not impressed here, but it's persona. There were some other issues with the place too, but i'm trying to forget... all in all a 1 star experience but i give an extra star for the waiter guy who really tried his best, running up and down trying to serve people inside and outside while educating the two female help about the bare basics a 6-year-old is already familiar with. Sorry guys, please pull you...
Read moreWe recently visited Ritrovino in Noto and had an amazing time! Their wine selection is outstanding, offering a wide range of local flavours to suit all tastes. Located centrally in Noto, it's convenient for locals and tourists alike, adding to the overall charm.
Their delicious aperitifs and platters were a treat, with carefully curated flavors and fresh ingredients. However, what truly made the experience exceptional was the warm and welcoming service from Roberto, Gaetano, and the rest of the staff, and is what gives this place such a unique experience amongst other places in town. They made us feel like dear friends, going above and beyond.
We can't wait to return to Ritrovino! It was a memorable experience. If you're looking for great wines, central location, and exceptional service, don't miss out on this hidden...
