We visited the beautiful city of Noto. We chose this restaurant because we walked by and we saw that it offered "carbonara" (not very comon in Sycily), a dish that my son wanted to eat. We didn't see the reviews before. The food wasn't that bad, but it was very expensive. We paid 20 Euros for a plate with 2 shrimps, one small piece of swordfish and some calamari. What made me put only one star, is that when at the end I asked for the check and to pay with a card, the waitress told me that I could not pay with a card because today the system didn't work (???). I honestly had only a few cash with me. I asked to check again, but they told me once more that I had to pay with cash, and if I didn't have enough to withdraw some from the bank atm next to the restaurant! It is a pitty that they treat like that the turists and at least they should have warned us about this issue from...
Read moreWe went to dinner without reading the reviews. Big mistake. The restaurant is located in a nice area of Noto but food wise it has been the worst meal of our Sicilian trip. We ordered pasta with swordfish and there were only a few small pieces of fish in a common red sauce. The plate was big but the actual content was about a cup.of pasta. The servers did not offer anything to fix this even though it was obvious that we were not satisfied with the meal. We also ordered a veal steak, which was equally small and served with no sides. We added a mixed salad and they brought us iceberg lettuce topped with a handful of cherry tomatoes. We paid 52 Euros. This charge is not honest for the food that they served. If you are looking for a good meal in Noto, seek a...
Read moreWe stopped for cappucinos and one table water - 6 cappucinos to be exact. We paid €21 including cover charge. Granted. We did not move from the table since we decided to eat there. Food was nothing special. But we were charged a SECOND time the cover charge. When I asked politely why we were charged a second time the cover charge, she rudely answered that we must be Maltese as in Malta, when she was on holiday she said she was overcharged in a pizza Margherita. Everywhere in Malta it is the cheapest pizza, costing €7-8. She started literally insulting me and my country - when we spent almost €100 in 90 minutes. The hatred for us Maltese was shocking!...
