A Taste of Italy at Dulcemente Ristorante, Olbia
Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at Dulcemente Ristorante, nestled in the heart of beautiful Olbia. The culinary experience was a delight, despite a few hiccups in the service.
The food at Dulcemente Ristorante is nothing short of superb. Each dish was a testament to the rich, diverse flavors of Italian cuisine. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the authenticity of the recipes shone through. Every course was a celebration of taste and texture, leaving us eager for the next.
However, the service left a bit to be desired. We had to request bread, an essential part of any Italian meal, and were surprised to find our dessert served before the main course. This sequencing error was a bit of a letdown, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. Additionally, the lack of small dishes or amuse-bouche between courses made the waiting times seem longer and less enjoyable.
Despite these service issues, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience were so outstanding that they overshadowed any shortcomings. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, and the decor was tastefully done, reflecting the charm of Olbia.
In conclusion, while the service at Dulcemente Ristorante could use some fine-tuning, the culinary experience is truly exceptional. The quality of the food, the ambiance, and the overall dining experience are enough to warrant a 5-star rating. If you find yourself in Olbia, make sure to put Dulcemente Ristorante on your must-visit list. You won't be...
Read moreWell, first, the restaurant is still listed as being located in Olbia. To be very clear - it is not. It has relocated to a remote location about 25 minutes outside of town. The view is beautiful, however, the restaurant is not what you expect of a Michelelin star. When we called to tell them we were in town and too far to get there, they told us we would be charged 50 euros a person if we did not show. We finally got there and the place was not busy. No wonder they were holding us hostage to arrive for our reservation.
Once we did sit down, the service was a joke. It became comical at how little they came to check on us. God forbid we requested an item, like a new fork, olive oil, or just to order, it would take an hour at a time to arrive. I understand in Italy things move slower, but I’m pretty sure our server may have gone to take a nap for most of the evening.
The food was nothing to write home about and they didn’t even bother on the presentation of the dishes (the food we were served looked nothing like the photos in the other reviews). I don’t know how this is a Michelin rated restaurant. Again, it was honestly a joke.
Their Michelin star really needs to be reconsidered or at least do not expect a Michelin...
Read moreOur recent dining experience at this establishment in Sardinia was both disappointing and costly. The food, which was supposed to be a highlight, fell short of expectations. Despite the aura of refinement, the dishes lacked true expertise in taste and harmony among ingredients. The fregula nera and trilia were particularly underwhelming, and the two spaghettis were excessively oily. Additionally, the rombo and trilia were overcooked, detracting from the overall dining experience.
The service was another area of concern. A card at our table warned us of a two-hour wait, which was indeed the case, yet the experience was not worth the extended wait. Our tablemates were fortunate enough to be presented with fresh fish on a tray, an opportunity we were denied. The server, however, was consistent throughout the meal.
The ambience was austere, lacking warmth and interaction beyond the transactional. The only saving grace was the amuse-bouche, which was unanimously the preferred dish among us.
Overall, this was a regrettable end to our dining experiences in Sardinia, leaving us with a sense of...
