La Piazzetta — Restaurant in Olbia

100% recommend.

This restaurant is my #1 pizzeria in Sardinia. Over the last 15+ years I have visited 50+ pizzeria’s across the island and I return to La Piazzetta whenever I am near.

My personal favourite on the menu amongst the many items is the ‘Sfoglia’ pizza, despite my go-to pizza being a Pizza ‘Sarda’ with a few added extras.

The pizza had a delicately crisp base but soft to eat. The ingredients are of a superior quality (local sausage and vegetables). The ambiance was relaxed and a mixture of locals and tourists. Like any great pizza restaurant, it has a good selection of beers, both local and international.

The restaurant does other food other than Pizza,… my wife had Calamari Fritto / Fried Squid but there are many other options for vegans and vegetarians.

Don’t be surprised by the a €2 coperto (Service Charge), which is typical in pretty much all Italian restaurants. It covers the ‘tip’ and is the cost is peanuts compared to an American or UK/ similar service charge.

The restaurant has plentiful outdoor and takeaway service. The service is professional and courteous by Sardinian standards, but expect the waiters to be busy due to the demand of this high-quality pizza. For me, it is a perfect ambiance...

What a rude waiter. We ordered pizza for my wife. I got paid, coperto x2, so I asked for second plate. Waiter took pizza plate, moved to me and said- this is your second plate. Sorry guys, poor service and any rude discussions are not in place. Great you saw when we left and what we said to your colleague while you were taking order from 8 person table. So skilled but still bringing second plate without client resentment is too hard. Second poor review in one week because of behaviour. It seems you have too much work even before...

First of all, great pizza. We had the La Regina (which was originally with mortadella but we changed to prosciutto crudo) and another simple, yet classic one with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. You can taste the goodness of the dough which tends to be in Neapolitan style.
