We went to Belle Parti for Christmas Eve and I couldn't be more disappointed. The restaurant was lovely and nicely decorated but never again. I called 3/4 weeks in advance to make a booking and asked whether they would accommodate any vegan and vegetarian dietary requirements, the answer was "no problem!" I then had to send a couple of emails to confirm it and because of their reputation I thought I would be in good hands? What a big mistake! This restaurant is not prepared to cater for vegans and not even for vegetarians since the menu options they gave were extremely poor and tasteless. We ended up with a salad as a starter, a risotto which I had great expectations of as it was supposed to be a radicchio risotto infused with Amarone wine but unfortunately I could only taste the broth. You would think that without butter radicchio would be nicer and stronger, on the contrary it was tasteless and very bland meaning it wasn't good, not sure where the Amarone went though. The second course was an extremely salty tempura that looked and tasted like a bag of veggie crisps. I was given a milk based sauce meaning they were not even paying attention. My fellow vegetarians did not enjoy their courses either because of very few options (I mean offering a salad to a vegetarian person as you cannot think of anything else and you are using the only starter you have suggested as a main course since the person doesn't fancy pasta with dried tomatoes - who would blame them - while risotto is for 2 people only but we are 3, come on guys, that's ridiculous!). I didn't have any dessert because I had enough of the whole joke I found myself into (I was offered a sorbet by the way) but my family gave it a go and again, not great and sickening actually. It is extremely disappointing when a restaurant is not making any effort to really accommodate their guests. They lacked of creativity, inspiration, flavours, interest and CARE which is the worst thing for a restaurant. What we paid was outrageous. You don't mind when you have good food but this was a real joke. I was told there was a vegan restaurant in town (as a suggestion to go there next time)....as if I didn't know it already. If I could I would give ZERO stars but the music was good, so 1 star...
Read moreA native New Yorker who isn't easily impressed. However, Belle Parti did impress me. My wonderful husband, failed to make a reservation for our wedding anniversary and decides to call a restaurant on the day of, which this year was on a Monday. We made a search for Padua restaurants (we live in the Venice providence) and liked the reviews given to Belle Parti and what was also important was the fact that it's open on Mondays. Usually, a lot of restaurants are closed.
I called but they were completely reserved for dinner but had availability for lunch. I was adament that it had to be dinner (more romantic ;) ). In any event. I was told by a very cordial Nicolò that they would call me immediately should a table become available. Just when I thought I had to give in and have lunch instead, I received a call within an hour after mine and a very lovely voice informed me that we had a table for 20, which was the time I requested. Of course, we were elated. And my husband was relived as he received no grief from me. :).
The room is both rustic and contemporary. The service from our arrival was attentive, professional but personalized. the food was delicious with a diverse cornucopia of intriguing taste and textures. It was like eating in a restaurant from a Michelin star Chef.
I highly recommend this restaurant. I look forward to dining again....not necessarily on a special...
Read moreAn absolutely 5-star experience. With every dish, from the incredibly well-prepared salt-baked fish to the mousse and tomato soup, our party of 5 was guided through a culinary adventure by the expert waitstaff. The wine was spectacular, bottle after bottle, and the menu was expansive enough that we had choices for everyone (even my fish-hating brother). The restaurant itself appears small from the outside, but is quite deep. There are two stories inside and a large table suitable for about 20 in the back. That being said, our dining experience was quiet and intimate. If you can afford to splurge in Padua, Belle Parti is absolutely worth...
