We were visiting Padova for 3 days, we were searching for a good Chinese, as we always do when on holiday. The Shanghai Naturalmente had very good reviews, so we tried it and wow! The quality of the food was excellent! We live in a small town in Italy and my husband is vegan and although supermarkets cater for vegans, Italian restaurants are particular poor at offering vegan options. The Shanghai was way beyond our expectation. We ate here for the 3 days we were here. Food is freshly prepared and cooked and there were many vegan and vegetarian options. The staff were friendly, super efficient and it was reasonably priced. We had rice, rice noodles, veg dim sum, and I had very fresh ginger and garlic prawns on iron plate. Read moreOk, I have tried a quite few chinese/thai/japanese/indian restaurants in this area. By far, Shanghai is the best so far (four stars because this was my first visit). The restuarant is clean, service is prompt, and food is excellent. However, if you read my other reviews, then do not compare this Chinese food with Milan or Florence chinese. They are different. Overall, excellent place, good food, and good...

Sadly, despite coming here after reading the glowing recommendations, I did not think much of the food. I ordered rice noodles with vegetables - the egg looked like it had been added after cooking the veggies and the dish smelled very eggy because of it. This was a bit of a let down only saved by the amazing chili sauce generously provided with the fried bread bits at all tables. I also got the fried cauliflower which looked disappointing and tasted steamed...
