This is the 1st time I’ve ever given a restaurant a strong negative review. A’Nica was recommended to us by friends and we were very much anticipating a fine meal in a wonderful atmosphere. They were busy but we had a reservation and were seated promptly. Then the trouble started. After sitting for an extended period of time, a brusque waiter took our order. Again, after waiting longer than usual even for a casual relaxing dinner, three of our meals came out with no mention of the fourth. I encouraged everyone to start without me as I assumed mine would be following. Wrong assumption. I sat and sat while my friends almost finished their meals. No waiter stopped at our table as they took care of everyone around us, and no meal. I finally caught the attention of the manager and explained the situation to him. After another extended period of time he came back and said it would be 10 minutes. After another 15 minutes I was able to flag down another server who sought out the manager. The food finally comes out with perfunctory apology and blaming it on the kitchen. I took issue with that pointing out the waiter brought out 3 meals knowing 4 people ordered, and then forgetting about us. Lots of excuses without taking responsibility. Not the end of the story yet. I let it go and finished my meal as my companions relaxed. We all were looking forward to dessert, BUT AGAIN NO WAITER! Now wouldn’t you think that after such a mistake the manager would want to make sure you were properly attended to? Not at A’Nica! Again had to work at getting the attention of the manager and we let him have it, including my friend who speaks fluent Italian. There was no confusion about our anger as the manager was self defeatingly defensive, versus sincerely apologizing and making some effort to make it right. So the food was fine, when finally delivered. The service and attitude of the waiter and manager was unforgivable. Go there at your own peril. Oh yeh, we then went to a lovely piazza and had a wonderful dessert with...
Read morePlease, have in account before going to this restaurant that we left deeply disturbed by one of this restaurants. He gave us a r4cist hate speech and no one from the staff did anything!!!
We were a group of 5 friends having our last dinner in Palermo. A man passed by our outdoors dinning table to give a solidarity flyer, which I accepted, right away an employee approached confidently speaking how he was against having 1m1grants in the country.
In a very self-righteous manner, what the employee came to speak was his opinion against the flyer’s organisation. As starters he said that “Ch1nese people”are like a “virus”, but they bring money and work. Not like the rest of the immigrants in Palermo, which he claims that immigrants are sixty of population, which are thefts that only come here to Palermos to take money from the government and do nothing.
We were shocked. Clearly we as group don’t look Italian, and actually there was only one of us that is European. Barely was this employee aware that he was talking to a bunch of 1m1grates with fortunate stories!
What is the most disturbing part is that this hate speech was being allowed by all and specially the staff that was just looking!!! Please don’t go to Atica restaurant. We had to insist several times that he leaves us alone to continue our dinner, that we don’t agree with his views. And still he came to speak to my black friend saying he is not r4cist person, that he has many friends from...
Read moreWe had a reservation at 10:45 PM, but from the moment we arrived, the staff made it clear they wanted to close as soon as possible, despite our confirmed booking. We were rushed to order everything at once—starters, mains, and desserts.
The starters were decent, but things quickly went downhill. We specifically asked for the main courses to be served with the starters because we could tell they were eager to get rid of us. The mains were a disaster: overwhelmingly salty and barely edible.
While we were still eating, they brought the desserts to the table, explaining that “the kitchen is closing.” The crumble with ice cream was served 15 minutes too early, so by the time we got to it, the ice cream had completely melted.
To make things worse, none of the dishes were cleared between courses. At one point, we had starters, mains, and desserts all cluttering the table. The service was shockingly poor—not only inattentive but outright disrespectful, with staff making remarks about us loudly and right in front of us.
A deeply disappointing experience, with bad food, rushed service, and a staff that made us feel unwelcome from...
