I compared this place with similar-style restaurants in Sicily regarding pricing and atmosphere, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing.

We got a steak and pasta with shrimp.

🥩 The steak was tasteless, overcooked, and chewy!

🍝 The shrimp pasta was just bad! I usually finish my food and hate wasting it (even if I don’t like it), but I couldn’t finish this dish. The pasta itself was cooked well, but the combination of the sauce and the shrimp wasn’t to my taste.

Besides us, there was another table, and they left their pasta barely eaten too. (They had a green pasta and another one)

Also, the women’s toilet was so dirty that I had to use the men’s toilet, which had a broken lock.

The staff were super friendly though, and the wine was tasty.

I’ve been to Italy eight times, had food at many great places, from local markets to high end restaurants and understand the difference between good Italian food and not-so-good! (Wrote this cause I saw the reply of the manager to some reviews saying you don’t understand the Italian food)

Haha funny and quite rude reply by a owner, good that I mentioned that Ive been to Italy 8 times (in total Ive stayed in Italy for almost a year and tried enough good Italian restaurant.) Even if the food was decent, I wouldnt go back by the way that owner replies to...

We sat down for the live music and pretty terrace, the whole atmosphere was nice. Nice staff. The food tho was mid and a bit overpriced for the portion size.

The menu is not very extensive, few options, and some of them were not available. I wanted to order the steak but I looked at the reviews here and they weren’t good so I didn’t order it, and I’m glad I didn’t because now I believe it. If you want to sit and have a nice time in the sun with music in a pretty place, go for it. If you are a foodie and want to eat I would suggest other places.

Also, a big red flag is that they cannot take feedback from customers in the reviews. They get defensive and tell you that you don’t know good food in your country. This is unprofessional and take away from the place’s allure.

Hope the person from the restaurant reading this will understand there is room for improvement and that I left this review here for other tourists to take into account when...

Sono stato recentemente al pub-ristorante Cantavespri e, devo dire, l'esperienza è stata davvero piacevole. Ecco perché mi sento di dare un bel 4,5 stelle su 5!

Atmosfera

Appena entrati, siamo stati accolti da un'atmosfera calda e accogliente. Il locale ha quel tipico mix tra il classico pub britannico e un ristorante moderno. Le luci soffuse, la musica di sottofondo non troppo invadente e l'arredamento rustico creano il giusto equilibrio tra un ambiente informale, ma curato. Le pareti sono piene di vecchie fotografie e dettagli che raccontano la storia del posto. C’è anche un angolo con un camino, che nelle serate più fredde deve essere una vera chicca!

Il personale è stato davvero amichevole e disponibile. Appena arrivati, ci hanno fatto subito accomodare nonostante il locale fosse abbastanza affollato (un buon segno!). Il servizio è stato veloce e, nonostante la frenesia della serata, i camerieri erano sempre sorridenti e pronti a dare consigli sul menù. Davvero una marcia in più.

Cibo e bevande

Il punto forte del The Happy Fox è senz’altro il menù. La scelta è ampia, adatta a tutti i gusti: dagli amanti della carne a chi preferisce opzioni vegetariane e vegane. Io ho ordinato un classico burger con cheddar e bacon, e non mi ha deluso affatto. Carne cotta alla perfezione, saporita e succosa, accompagnata da patatine croccanti e una salsa speciale che ha fatto la differenza.

Per quanto riguarda le bevande, la selezione di birre artigianali è davvero notevole. C’è una vasta gamma di birre locali alla spina e in bottiglia, e il barman è stato molto gentile nel suggerirmi la birra che meglio si abbinava al mio piatto. Ho optato per una IPA locale che si è rivelata perfetta.

Ho avuto anche modo di assaggiare il dessert: una cheesecake al caramello salato che definirei semplicemente divina. Cremosa e ben equilibrata nel gusto, non troppo dolce, insomma il modo perfetto per concludere la serata.

Prezzi

Parlando di prezzi, devo dire che sono onesti considerando la qualità del cibo e l’attenzione ai dettagli. Non è economico come il tipico pub di quartiere, ma il costo è giustificato dall’esperienza complessiva. Con circa 25-30 euro a testa si può mangiare e bere molto bene, e le porzioni sono abbondanti.
