Cotto e Bollito — Restaurant in Palermo

During my trip to Sicily, this restaurant stood out as the best dining experience by far. The atmosphere is genuinely authentic, creating a perfect setting for a memorable meal. The owner and staff are exceptionally friendly, a refreshing change that isn't always common in tourist-heavy areas. While gentrification and the behavior of some tourists can understandably make hospitality challenging, this place maintains its warmth and welcoming nature for everyone.

It’s no surprise that locals frequently hang out here, adding to the restaurant’s charm and authenticity. I found myself returning multiple times throughout my trip, and it has undoubtedly become my top spot on the entire island. I can't wait to come back. I was happy to go there after seeing the reviews, but my experience was not happy as others.. I've ordered an seafood mix platter for 2 person (showing her a picture from the restaurant reviews) and we got a small plate with 3 kind of fish, we start eating that (waiting for the other plate), after a while the waiter came and I've asked her if that was for 2 people and she sad: Yes, that's for 2... I ve showed her the picture and, explaining that is not the same thing and it's way much less food in it. She went in the restaurant and came back and said that the plate was actually for one person and if we want something else because they don't have seafoods anymore... That was not nice for the first experience at that...

First day arrived in Palermo and got ripped off. Had Mixed fried seafood, mostly calamari rings and tiny shrimps, 1 small prawn and 1 small octopus tentacle - not tasty; Sardine pasta was ok. Total with soft drink should have been 26 euros. They were gonna charged us 35 and changed to 30 after we questioned. Didn't even give us an itemized receipt. The so-called street food restaurants are overrated and a tourist trap ! We have had better food in Catania, Syracuse,...
