The food wasnt the best not to say awful and i hated the fact that i ordered risotto with shrimps and the shrimps were RAW GUYS !!! (Also the shrimps were cold on the plate, i believe they took it out of the freezer and they just pressed them in) I can’t believe it the rice was not cooked enough and it was hard to eat the souse was not tasty we didn’t have any salt or pepper on the table. We asked if we can change the table and go to a bigger room but the waiter told us that we can’t and we only can sit in a small claustrophobic room. THE BATHROOM WAS AWFUL IT WAS SMALL UNHYGIENIC AND I HIT MY HEAD on the ceiling. My family ordered a pesto pasta with calamari and I swear to god my father said it was worse then my risotto which is coming from a family that travel all around the world and this was the worse restaurant we’ve been in. The waiter wasn’t nice to us until he realized that we’re not satisfied and he even offered me any meal from the menu because I didn’t like mine but I kindly said no. That was really nice of him but I was kinda scared we would have to pay for that. We ate what we could paid and left didn’t do any drama. People seemed to be nice after that incident and truly the best thing was my brothers caccio e peppe which was good but it was watery and the pasta was not al dente at all I think it was too hard. To sum up weird service weird table awful food which was a surprise because of the nice comments and 4,6 stars and the water that was in the menu and we paid for was poured straight from the tap. It might have been a one off type of situation but for us it was a total misunderstanding.(also plastic plates is a no for me it’s a restaurant not a fast food) I’ll pin you some photos though I swear this doesn’t look as bad...

Update: Wonderfully, this restaurant is currently open all day: fantastic.

The staff are warm and welcoming. And very charming.

In between there were evenings with a very, very nice appetizer buffet.

The wines by the glass are very good.

So... make it your favorite place to eat while you live in Palermo.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I actually think about stopping off there quite often, because they are lovely, friendly, uncomplicated hosts. And that's worth a lot to me.

The charming alleyway does have the disadvantage that mopeds are constantly whizzing through here - this is disturbing even when enjoying a glass of wine, because you always breathe in the stench of the exhaust fumes yourself. In addition, the many mopeds in this - actually so tranquil alley - create (for me) an unpleasant hustle and bustle.

Inside, on the other hand, I find it very cramped. The restaurant is also very narrow. In addition, there is virtually no mobile phone reception inside (but if you don't go there alone, you shouldn't have your nose glued to your mobile phone anyway).

So far I've always had a glass of wine (or more than one...). I tended to eat something to nibble on, like pizza (which was good) rather than fish or meat dishes.

There is also an inner courtyard at the back, which is perhaps the best place to enjoy lunch or dinner.

The restaurant is very close to the Ballarô Mercato - and before you buy something reheated and/or fried in rancid fat there, it's much better to try Sicilian dishes here. It's much more worthwhile in culinary terms.

See you very soon, for a 🍷...

Stuzzicando Ristoranto is a cozy and unassuming place with a traditional menu, and yet they exceed all expectations with beautifully prepared Sicilian dishes with an imaginative flair. The Antipasti caponata with crisp prawns sits in a hot baked bowl shaped pizza dough that you will enthusiastically tear apart to soak up the flavourful juices of the contents therein. We enjoyed a very fresh misto salad that we dressed with EVO and Balsamic vinegar at the table. The spaghetti vongole is a favourite of mine that was served with a sea urchin (ricci) sauce that greatly enhanced the flavour and complexity of the dish. My dining partner enjoyed prawns and cracked pistachios with spaghetti - perfectly al dente. The Sicilian wine selection is very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Stuzzicando earned five stars because of good quality flavourful food prepared with imagination, reasonable prices and top notch service. What more can one ask in the highly competitive restaurant dining market in...

I ordered the **Calamarata Pesto Norma, Polpito (grilled octopus), and Anchovies Pizza**. While there were some enjoyable elements, a few issues kept the meal from being outstanding. The **Calamarata Pesto Norma** had great flavor—the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the pesto sauce was rich and aromatic. However, the calamari was a bit **chewy**, and the sauce leaned **too salty**, which slightly overpowered the dish. The **Polpito (grilled octopus)** was clearly **fresh**, but it was **underseasoned and chewy**, likely because it wasn’t tenderized enough before cooking. A squeeze of **lemon** or a brighter dressing would have helped balance the smokiness. The **Anchovies Pizza** was the strongest dish—thin, crispy crust with a bold, briny flavor from the anchovies. If you love salty, umami-rich pizza, this is a solid choice. **Service** was attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant, but the execution on some dishes could be improved. Would I return? Maybe, but I’d try different dishes next time.

Despite the many positive reviews which led me here, I thought the food was very average, as was the service. I tried the Pasta Deliziosa (€13) which had tiny shrimp, pistachio, cream and tomatoes - which is just too many flavours in one pasta dish. It really goes against the core Italian principles of simplicity in clean flavours. The pasta was a little overcooked too. The pizza was a crispy base in the Roman style. Not a great pizza by any means, but reasonable for €8. Service was appalling - we had to ask for everything - to be seated, to take our order, to get water, to bring the bill (and this was before the restaurant even got busy. We were seated outside under a dripping air-cond duct even though there were plenty of tables inside. We waited about 40 minutes for food, and I felt sorry for the family who had ordered before us but their food came well after ours.
