We hadn't made a reservation but were seated happily at about 9 o'clock. The only menu was on a website that my telephone didn't get on with. I asked for a paper copy but was told there wasn't one. The owner very kindly offered me another phone to use but I just wanted a real menu.

I was disappointed by the twice-cooked octopus as it was chewy and tasted a bit burned. That was the only bad thing about the food and the other dishes we ordered were all delicious.

After we had finished our secondi, we tried to catch the young waiter's attention for quite some time but failed to do so. When we eventually managed to engage him, he wasn't sure if we could have pudding, coffee, or digestives. Happily, the owner confirmed we could!

The food was “Granny food” but fancier. We enjoyed it.

It wasn't very busy on the terrace on a Sunday evening and we were the last ones to leave which we hadn't anticipated. That did owe something to our wait for...

Food was delicious, great patio space for dinning on the piazza. Service was horrible, only rude encounter I had was here. Waiter was rude and pushy immediately upon arrival..he messed up my order and brought the wrong dish (normally not a big issue and I'd gladly just wait for the correct dish), but he proceeded to toss it down on the table and walk away as we tried to explain politely it was incorrect, just ignoring us. Again normally if it was busy or the place was full I'd understand the potential for a mix up and the chaoticness of that being an issue.. but there were maybe 5 other tables there. Honestly if the kitchen wasn't so good at their job I'd recommend to skip this place, but luckily the kitchen knows what...

So do I want to come back here again? Early lunchtime. Restaurant empty. Ask for a table "una persona sola"...get a small table for two, one of whose chairs is occupied by a handbag and staff utensils. This chair is removed together with the bags. There is no new chair (for my bag perhaps?) - and so you sit somewhat strangely as a single guest at a small table, without a chair opposite. Perhaps the owners of the restaurant should try this out for themselves to see if it's comfortable from an atmospheric point of view...?

The Greek salad was ok, albeit with very few pieces of feta (although feta was the reason for this choice).

Otherwise: no menu card, just the unappealing QR code.

Frustrating...

Oh my God — we had a tuna with pistachio crust that melts in your mouth! Absolutely divine. And don’t even get me started on the fish goulash — it will take you to the moon. The cassata Siciliana is probably the best you'll find in the city. Every bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is cozy but elegant, and the staff were warm and very attentive. If you're in Palermo, La Cambusa is a must. Can’t wait to come back!
