Every time I walk into Spinnato, I hold onto a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, things have improved. But nope, I’m always disappointed.

The service here is as if they’re doing you a favor by even acknowledging your existence. The staff? Rude doesn’t even begin to cover it. They’re so slow that it’s almost impressive. For a laugh, my friends and I set a timer just to see how long it would take for them to notice us and take our order. It took 21 minutes. And get this: the place was practically empty.

Now, onto the products. Sure, they’re decent, but don’t expect anything fresh. The pastries, like the cannoli, have clearly been sitting at the counter for way too long. You can taste the staleness.

This place is basically living off the fact that it’s centrally located and tourists stumble in by accident. The regulars? They’ve probably wised up and left. And don’t even get me started on the owner—somehow, he’s even ruder than the waitstaff.

Ate lunch there, today. Average food at an average price. Nothing special, certainly. Can have long lines at normal lunch hours and is quite popular. Fortunately, they have numbered tickets to pull for your waiting time. At least they keep people honest regarding waiting, and without that people would be pushing and pulling to get ahead in line. Everything is pre-made. So, the food is not not the freshest. My lasagna was better than my wife’s sandwich, for example. If you want a fresher sandwich, McDonald’s is next door. The lasagna would be an item to get, in my opinion. The spaghetti looked dry just sitting there, and the pizza type items could have a crust like cardboard if not just out of the oven. Choose carefully, and you...

I feel this place is a scam, because they tried to overcharge us by bringing stuff we didn't order. First off, they brought us a bottle of water that was bigger than the one we ordered. We made them aware and the right one was brought. I got a sandwich, but later it turned out to be a sandwich that's almost twice as expensive as the one I wanted to gef. They said, well this is the price for that sandwich you ate and there nothing to be done now. This probably happened because they saw us as tourist and that they could get away with it. if you come...

Spinnato is one of the best cafés I've been to during my stay in Italy (and Palermo). Not only are the coffee and pastries absolutely delicious, but the service is wonderful. We'd experienced some rude treatment from servers and baristas in other pasticcerias in Palermo before but, the moment we entered Spinnato, we were treated with kindness even if we didn't speak much Italian and the servers didn't speak Spanish/English. Spinnato is definitely one place I'd come to if I ever visited Palermo again.

Ci dicono, pizza tagliata a pezzettini. Siamo a Palermo! Spritz buoni. Papatine buone. Pizzetta gradevole. :/
