Just down the street from our Air BnB was this little Taverna. We were so impressed with the food, the ambiance and the service - probably our best dining experience overall while staying in Palermo. I wish we found it earlier. We had some cocktails and wine, shareable appetizers and a plate of Norma and Salsiccia di Alessio (the chef). There are regular, simple, traditional dishes and a menu that changes daily as well. We ended with the best Tiramisu we have ever had. These guys really now what they are doing so if you have the chance to check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Very nice little restaurant not far from quattro canti. The menu is very local with a lot of antipasti which you can share, a couple of primi and some mains. The baccala was our favourite starter, creamy on the inside and crunchy outside. The octopus ragu and pasta with tenerumi were both amazing and for the mains, the breaded steak was perfectly tender and the stuffed calamari had a delicious filling with raisins. For dessert we had tiramisu and an interesting orange cheesecake which was slightly tart but a good way to finish off the dinner.

Il locale é molto bello, con volte in pietra molto ben curate e arredo minimal moderno che crea il giusto contrasto fra vecchio e nuovo. Il menù molto carino, scritto a mano, crea subito il giusto impatto di convivialità, con piatti tutti tipici della tradizione locale. Gli antipasti sono da condividere, come suggerito sul menù, scelta giusta considerando le porzioni abbondanti dei piatti principali. Abbiamo preso quindi le polpettine di baccalà fritte che erano veramente buonissime, ne avremmo mangiate altrettante!! Poi la mia amica ha preso il calamaro ripieno ed io la pasta con i tenerumi, poi ci siamo divise un cheesecake al mango siciliano. Tutto veramente buonissimo, rapporto qualità prezzo super giusto! Il prezzo speso fa riferimento comunque al fatto che abbiamo preso una buona bottiglia di vino, altrimenti la fascia di prezzo sarebbe intorno ai 30/35€ a testa. Straconsiglio!

Lovely place in the hipper part of the town. Hip, too, but at the same time quite alright and nothing overly fancy. Primi were absolutely solid, not top notch, but you can not expect it for that price, yet they are absolutely fine. We had 4 to share for two and were full. Nice wine selection as well, it was a slow night, so we were also taken care of nicely. Overall friendly even though we were also a bit difficult, to be frank. Would certainly recommend in the middle price range. Oh, and we only had the vegetarian dishes, needs to be said as well. Music selection was also nice with some Billie Holiday and some other classics all...

La Taverna dei Calderai: un'esperienza culinaria unica a Palermo

Se sei un amante del buon cibo e del vino, La Taverna dei Calderai è il posto giusto per te. Situata nel cuore di Palermo, questa taverna è un'oasi di gastronomia e tradizione siciliana.

L'atmosfera

Appena entrato, sarai accolto da un'atmosfera calda e accogliente, con pareti in pietra e arredi in legno che ti faranno sentire come a casa. Il locale è piccolo, ma molto intimo e suggestivo.
