I think that’s a fair trade 🤷🏼‍♀️ Italian summer on the Amalfi Coast is superior! 📍 Maestro’s at Villa Tre Ville in Positano, Italy #amalficoast #italy #positano #italytravel #travelbucketlist #traveldestinations #travelreels

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Maestro Restaurant at La Travelle in Positano, and it was an evening to remember. The setting alone is worth the visit – perched right on the coast, this restaurant offers breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding cliffs. If you time your reservation for around 7 PM, you’ll be treated to a magical transition from daylight to dusk, with rich hues of pink, orange, and deep blue painting the sky as the sun sets. The ambiance is nothing short of spectacular. The dining experience is elegant and refined. We opted for a two-course dinner + desert, with prices ranging between €150 per person, not including drinks. It is certainly a high-end experience, and drinks, starting around €35 each, do add up quickly. That said, the food was genuinely enjoyable – well-executed, beautifully plated, and full of flavour. Every dish felt thoughtful and sophisticated without being overly fussy. Adding a bit of celebrity sparkle to the evening, we were seated just three tables away from Michael Jordan, which made the night even more memorable. Is it worth the €500 bill? In today’s luxury dining scene, probably yes – especially when you factor in the stunning location, polished service, and overall ambiance. But make no mistake – this is a splurge. Come prepared for a premium night out. If you’re visiting Positano and looking for a romantic, upscale experience with panoramic views, Maestro won’t disappoint. It’s a place to savour the moment – and the sunset – as much as the food

We really enjoyed our experience. The boat to the restaurant from the main Positano pier was a nice complimentary option. It is only 5 min but the views and the ability to do so was great. Would try to time it with sunset. We were welcomed and walked through the gardens up to the restaurant area. You can’t beat the views and the ambience. It had tables for groups or couples. The staff were accommodating and welcoming. They helped organize a taxi pick up for us to leave. The food is pricey - we opted for the 3 course and dessert a la carte option but would recommend sticking to the 2 course option. My husband had the ravioli and said it was amazing. The burrata appetizer was very fresh. The veal entree was heavy and not needed after the pasta dish. The fish of the day was good not great. The tiramisu was perfection. The cocktails were 35 euro each so unless you are planning to go for a cocktail before at the bar, wouldn’t make that part of your dinner experience. Overall, we were really happy with the experience but know you will be paying extra for the details.

This is a long story. My husband and I visited Positano on our honeymoon and booked a reservation for Maestros terrace for lunch. We were very excited to go but our schedule was packed. We called and asked them if it was ok to cancel our reservation the day of, they said oh yes that’s ok to cancel. The next day we get a 215 dollar charge on our card. We called and they said “you have to email us for the reservation to be cancelled with no charge, not call us” and we were like ?? We called and asked if it was ok and they said yes and they didn’t mention that you had to email in order to not be charged. (Yes that’s in the policy but when you call and ask if it’s ok I feel like that’s more of a confirmation than an email is.) So we called them everyday to talk about the miscommunication and asked for the manager because they would tell us to call back the next day and we could talk to him and miraculously the next day he was never available. The first 3 days we called we were still in town for our honeymoon. And now that we are back home I have been in contact with the director of operations over email. He offered for us to come in if we are still in town and use our credit at the restaurant but no refund allowed ( keep in mind we have been trying to get ahold of them for a solution for a week and a half). If they would’ve offered this the first day we called we would’ve gladly came in considering this place was top on my list to eat in positano. I have not gotten and email back from the director of operations for 5 days so now the director is ignoring my emails. In my opinion it is a mistake on their part for communicating the proper way to cancel and a huge miscommunication and they’re making us pay 215 dollars for it which is absurd and money is very tight for us after getting married and honeymooning. All this place cares about it money and does not care about their customers. We have been blown off and taken advantage of as customers, I wish I could give 0 stars. We do plan on going back to positano and will never be trying this place. Everyone we talked to over the phone pushed us off and pushed us off I’m sure they do this to people all the time and this is how they make their...

This is probably the worst dining experience of my life So I was very much looking forward to eating at this restaurant it is a beautiful location. I was staying in positano and the hotel said they have a boat shuttle to take us to the restaurant which we took, we were greeted by a very rude driver who proceeded to go so quickly that we and my guest were continuously thrown up in the air and the impact on the hard wood boat was not enjoyable and frankly scary. Upon arrival at the restaurant we were met at the reception by a man who then led us into a makeshift internal dining area the whole point of this restaurant was because they have a beautiful covered terrace with a beautiful view. When I asked why we could not sit on the terrace he told me it was because of bad weather when I asked why there were other guests on the terrace he became very rude and aggressive and said it was reserved for guests of the hotel when I made the reservation I was assured a table on the terrace, don’t take my reservation then, it’s very simple. If he at least had said sorry it would have made all the difference Then he and the waitress made faces at each other thinking I could not see them, and when I told him I could see them he become even more aggressive. He clearly is not made for working in the service industry. Then the food arrived I had white fish with vegetables it was bland and under seasoned, like eating baby food. My guest had vegetable tempura underwhelming at best. We did not eat the food sent it back And asked for the check and I made reservations at another restaurant. The lady upstairs at reception Annalisa was beyond nice and accommodating and said how sorry she was for this incident and offered to have us back. As nice as she was I will never ever set foot in Villa Treville again. They forget that they have an establishment because they have customers I think they have forgotten what customer service is. I recommend to avoid this restaurant. If I could give it zero...

Disappointing Dining Experience

I recently dined at Maestro’s Restaurant & Terrace and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. With the meal priced at 100 euros, my expectations were understandably high, both in terms of quality and selection.

The primary disappointment was the Milanese veal, which tasted more like dry pork instead of tender beef. The veal was remarkably bland, completely lacking in flavor. Additionally, the spaghetti was salty, making it quite difficult to enjoy. Given the premium pricing, I anticipated a much broader and more refined selection of dishes. Instead, it was incredible to see items like club sandwiches and cheeseburgers on the menu. This selection felt more suited to a diner, creating a strong contrast to the premium environment and price point.

However, what truly marred the experience was the exorbitant price of the espresso coffee. At 15 euros, the expectation is that it should be made from beans of gold. This outrageously expensive espresso left me feeling quite foolish for ordering it. To add to the frustration, the price of the espresso was not listed on any menu, which felt deceitful. The service was mostly ok, polite but not friendly to English speaker, I had a hard time communicating with staff in English, understandable but could be better. On the positive side, dessert was well prepared, and the view from the restaurant is indeed incredible. The 10-euro price for water was reasonable given the setting.

Overall, while the ambiance and view had their merits, the quality of the food and the hidden costs make it difficult to recommend Maestro’s Restaurant & Terrace to others, especially at such a high...
