I Pizzicaroli is the best food experience I have had in Rome! Of course my American family and I love the pizza, the pasta, and the gelato. But I Pizzicaroli serves up the most delicious cold cuts, porchetta, cheeses, and fondue that I've had anywhere on earth! Their porchetta and black truffle bruschetta is worth the trip from the U.S. to Rome alone. There is only deli counter service (hence the 4 stars), they don't bring food to you. They have beer and wine if you like. They have VERY limited space inside and only a few outside tables. But whatever you do, if you're in Rome, don't pass up the chance to try the best porchetta on earth, the tastiest salamis and hams, and make sure you stack them on a perfectly toasted bruschetta and dip them in the delicious DOP fondue! Don't worry about the calories. You will walk them off in Rome! For an added bonus, at I Pizzicaroli, you won't be competing with long lines of tourists. And you are less than a 5 minute walk from Piazza Navona where you'll find a Christmas market during the holidays, 3 amazing baroque marble fountains designed by Bernini, a palazzo from the same period by Borromini, and two churches containing amazing works of sacred art by Carivaggio and Rafael, all of which can be...
Read moreThe service is terrible and disgusting. I do not recommend!! ! Upon entering the establishment, the staff showed disrespect to the tourists. They hate tourists there. The waitress was very rude and we waited 20 min and she didn't come to take the order. She didn't want to clean the table and threw the menu. The chairs and tables are wobbly and dirty and old. The establishment is dirty and unpleasant. The service is terrible and the food simple and nothing special. I wonder what this fake rating is. They don't deserve a single star. Waste of time! With both hands - I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!!
P.S. I don't know if she was a waitress or something, but the attitude and service was terrible. One girl got mad and yelled that she had to clean the table and then continued yelling as we left. He threw the menu on the table and didn't explain anything. Everything I wrote is true and it's a shame you have such a staff. Read other reviews that share about the bad treatment of tourists. I'm glad I didn't spend money at this establishment. I don’t...
Read moreThe food was of good quality and the portions were big. It was not a culinary delight; perhaps it was what I ordered. I would return to try other items on the menu. I do like that the shop is on a quiet side street away from the hustle and bustle of the city. On a side note, I must add that the gentleman working on the day of my visit is an honest man. He was handed a $10 to pay for a drink. He got distracted then stated that he had not yet been paid for the drink. After some back and forth, he indicated that the drink would be on the house. I accepted that I was out a few Euros and went back to my table. However, a few minutes later, the gentleman brought change for the $10 and stated that he had been mistaken and found the bill that had been handed to him in the cash register. This was a pleasant surprise... Kudos to him for doing the...
