Saluti, Salud, Salute and Grande Grazie for Chef Susan, staff at 'Oste Cavour, and the Fettuccine and Tiramisu Class! All three, professional and perfect! Recommend x10! Apparently we paid attention because we ate our creations afterward and it was delicious! The modern spacious restaurant was excellent and so was the service! We commend Joy, for living up to her name, and Federica, for her constant smile! They and other staff made great greater in many subtle ways from espressos to romantic table. Above all was Chef Susan, our teacher and master of many culinary colors, exemplar of desserts! Equally impressive, and why we vote her Top Chef at 'Oste Cavour, were her people skills. Our class included my wife and a female family foursome, frustrated to arrive 1 hour late, by accident of course but blaming "bad directions". (Btw, I checked the viator and airbnb platforms—appears accurate, hence the 1000+ 5star reviews, but the family missed the tiramisu part of class, some were angrily upset and hurt the class vibe). I only include this detail for two reasons. First, I was so impressed with Susan, kind and professional handling of the situation. With a true teacher's temperament, like a chef repairing a ruined recipe, she sprinkled soft humor and reassurances, stirring the class atmosphere back to flavor. (As a teacher and tour guide, who loves his wife and wants her to have happy special times, I greatly appreciated you Susan, you are superhuman hermana). She protected the restaurant’s integrity and reputation, and allowed the family to attend the next tiramisu lesson after lunch. Second, a dual lesson to wise world travelers--triple check those directions, and if your soup is sour or tea too hot, put a pinch of positivity in the pot.
Brilliant jobs by Joy, Federica and especially Chef Susan, for doing everything—from food to...
Read moreWe wanted to have Dinner at a Restaurant called Camillo B. It seemed to have the same address as this restaurant Oste Cavour. We entered the restaurant and asked the staff which restaurant it is. The waiter showed us a table which was definitely too small for our group and said that this restaurant was the restaurant we were asking for. In the end a second waitress changed our seats when we mentioned we would like to have dinner. The third waitress gave us a menu which showed a complete different menu than the one we were looking for. After asking three different staff about the restaurants name and different menu one waitress told us the restaurant we were looking for was closed in March and it does not exist anymore. We left the restaurant after this experience without having food! The ambience seemed to be nice and...
Read moreThis restaurant caught our eye as it was near our hotel. We arrived at 8.30 and it wasnt busy at all so all 6 of us ordered our food and cocktails to drink while waiting. One of the drinks didn't arrive and the mohitos had undisolved sugar in the base suggesting they were not shaken. Three of our meals arrived quickly which was good then another one arrived which wasn't ours. The other 3 meals took 30 mins to arrive by which time the rest of us were finished. Too of them (carbonara) weren't cooked properly and very oversalted so we sent them back and decided to leave. The other food we got tasted good but I would not recommend this place as it is chaotic. They took the service charge off our meal and removed the dishes we sent back, eventually after asking to see the...
