Great gluten free options — the tiramisu was the highlight and the coffee was good. Unfortunately that’s where the praise ends. The gluten free pasta we got was very undercooked, and the shrimp tasted funny (not fresh). The amatriciana had no flavor and the pork cheek was rubbery.
The service was nice but….. THEY ARE VERY PUSHY ABOUT LEAVING A REVIEW!!! Hence the current 4.8 on Google. Already that made me uncomfortable, but when I did them the polite courtesy of loading the review page up for them, our very kind server crossed the line AND ENTERED A 5 STAR REVIEW ON MY PHONE!!!!! That’s insane, and beyond unacceptable. No wonder the reviews are so high!
Only go here if you need a coffee or gluten free lunch, and even then there are probably better options.
Edit: appreciate the restaurant response. We did respond positively about the food in person because politeness is easy. To be fair, the caprese, coffee, and dessert were all very very good, and the staff were great. We also know and love “al dente”pasta, but there’s al dente and then there’s what was served (only the gluten free pasta was undercooked). The critical review was mostly for the funny shrimp and later boldly entering the review on my phone without...
Read moreIf you like me are a tourist looking for a place to have some decent pasta or dessert that feels friendly and not overly formal or fancy, this is a nice choice. The pasta menu is very extensive, and the portions are quite large (bring your own container if you think you might be taking some home as they charge for container). You can get a glimpse of the cooks making the pasta through a big window. Everyone was very nice although the service seemed a little uneven, like perhaps the one server had too many tables. I was not rushed to finish my meal and was able to relax and enjoy.
The dessert selection likewise is very extensive and contains many nice options not on the menu. However, they were out of some items on the regular menu.
If you are on a budget they have a pasta meal special for 17 euro including a drink and dessert, but note it is limited to just a couple options. I chose one of the more expensive menu options and after adding a drink, bottled water, coffee, and dessert, my bill including everything was much higher than 20 euro / person. This was okay but just be aware. I would actually say that unless you are just dropping in for a quick little dessert, this is more a 20- 50 euro place than a...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant yesterday and, unfortunately, left disappointed with both the food quality and the overall experience. The ambiance felt more like a fast-food chain than a proper sit-down restaurant, with overly bright lighting that didn’t create a cozy atmosphere. Additionally, the photos on Google are misleading and don’t accurately represent the space.
We ordered three dishes: pasta cacio e pepe, pasta carbonara, and fettuccine ai funghi. Out of the three, only the fettuccine ai funghi was somewhat acceptable. The biggest letdown was the cacio e pepe, which was served practically swimming in water—not even a proper sauce. It seemed as if the chef forgot to properly drain the pasta before plating. While the taste wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t enjoyable either. The carbonara was also underwhelming and quite average.
What surprised us most was that the restaurant markets itself as a pasta-focused establishment, yet the dishes we tried—classic Roman pasta recipes—didn’t meet even basic expectations.
On the bright side, they do offer decent gluten-free options, with a separate kitchen dedicated to preparing both gluten and gluten-free meals. This is a thoughtful touch that many diners...
