5e28 - cucina e miscele — Restaurant in Rome

The zen looking atmosphere made us think 528 would be a great place to have a late dinner/snack.

However, we ordered a Carbonara which is a meal we have eaten before and loved. But it was extremely salty, maybe it was the bacon or too much salt in the water it was boiled in… we tried a few bites and it was unpleasant.

To our surprise the almost untouched meal was still on our bill.

The staff was instantly insulted and told us that it must be our taste buds that were wrong and also asked us which Country we came from…

They would rather cause a scene yelling at their customers in front of the entire restaurant than try to reason with us about the meal.

Finally they told us they would take it off the bill and left us waiting for 15 minutes and ignoring us.

We went up to the counter to pay and they took it off the bill. However, they then added a €6.00 tip for the new bill. And accused the pending payment “tapping my visa” of not working and got angry again … when indeed the payment went through after a few moments.

Save your money and don’t waste your time at 528! I have never felt so accused and embarrassed about something MOST restaurants in the service industry would deal with in a professional...

Went here with expectations of a good dinner. Had a pleasant evening there the night before drinking beers while watching the Italy vs. Austria game.

Sat down and was presenter a menu with a select few dishes. Quickly recognized the dishes I wanted and got my beer.

Service staff on point from the moment I arrived made me look forward to the dinner.

1st course was cheese with a compote, don't know what the cheeses were as the dishes weren't presented. Decent start regardless with good cheeses.

2nd course was Spaghettone with sea urchin. Not much sea urchin flavor, a little bland.

3rd course was suck. And oh boy did it go wrong from here... The duck was cooked beyond any recognition of duck and was as Grey as as the pavement. I tried to tell the server who quickly brought it bck to the kitchen. Another server came back with the same plate with a message from the chef that this is how the duck was supposed to be - contrary to the duck the lady on the next table was served, which was red and looked juicy and delicious, much like the picture of the same duck dish on their Instagram page...

Great and polite service personnel.

Service: 5 stars Food: 2 stars - barely. Even that is hard...

Siamo tornati più volte in questo ristorante essendo vicino a casa, molto molto deludente. Tutte le volte problemi per fare la fattura perché il personale alla cassa non sapeva come fare e abbiamo dovuto attendere il titolare o un tipo che non era presente. Ok niente fattura ieri sera, così niente attesa, ma purtroppo è andata ancora peggio: dal menu ordiniamo busiate al pesto siciliano e un’altra pasta con cipolla di Tropea, mi dicono che le busiate non ci sono e in alternativa porteranno una pasta lunga tipo reginelle. Arrivano due primi con uno stesso formato di pasta “gli elicoidali” non riportati nel menu nemmeno per l’altro primo! Boh, non mangio una cosa che ha deciso il cuoco e nemmeno mi viene comunicata, ma che modo è di trattare i clienti?! Nemmeno i fondamentali per un locale che si dà arie da cucina gourmet…la ragazza del tavolo al mio rifiuto di mangiarla porta via la pasta e non torna. Non mi chiede nulla. Io a questo punto devo alzarmi e chiedere un altro piatto, rinuncio alla pasta tanto ho capito che non c’è nessun formato richiesto. Chiedo un secondo loro mi dicono che hanno buttato di nuovo la pasta, ma quale?! Io non l’ho riordinata. Alla cassa parlottolano tra loro chiedo un secondo, una melanzana con tutta una serie di farciture, altro piatto altisonante al costo di 12 o 13 euro. Arriva mezza melanzana alla piastra con un po’ di maionese e una salsa rossa che dovrebbe essere arissa ma sa di pomodoro. Per non aver mangiato abbiamo pagato come al solito troppo, per il servizio non ho parole nemmeno al secondo anno dell’istituto alberghiero un cameriere avrebbe fatto di testa sua arrivando con un piatto nemmeno comunicato. Ma datevi meno arie e dite che fate solo aperitivi che è meglio, più che unospritz con un po’ di patatine non potete fare. Serata pessima Visto che vi permettete di raccontare anche che sono maleducata vi ribadisco che la vostra stessa cameriera quando ha portato gli elicoidali mi ha detto che le busiate non sono mai arrivate e non che erano terminate, avete un menu che non coincide mai e ribadisco mai con i piatti. Se lei non è in grado di portare a tavola ciò che c’è scritto sul menu cambiate il menu. Siete veramente deludenti anche nelle risposte ai vostri clienti. Un buon ristoratore non si permette di far passare per sciocchi i propri clienti, quindi se manca l’educazione e la forma questa manca al vostro locale. Relativamente alla fattura certo che mio marito non l’ha richiesta l’ultima volta abbiamo aspettato 30 minuti che venisse la persona competente perché alla cassa il ragazzo non sapeva assolutamente come fare!! Spero che basti quello che ho descritto e che non continuate su questa scia completamente sbagliata per chi lavora con la ristorazione. Chiaramente non sono una cameriera o un cuoco ma una esperta di...
