Nice looking place, outdoor tables in good weather, BUT (and a HUGE BUT) the food was not good by any Roman restaurant standards. Everything overdosed with salt. Next day we were MORE than 1 kilo heavier, all salt weight. The fish entree was inedible, uncooked, hardly fresh, baked with tomatoes that were old; the saltimbocca was tough and incredibly salty. No other taste quality. It's as if salt is their go to enhancer, which is - apart from being unhealthy - a sign of unimaginative cooking. Not sure why people like this place. First and last time for us. Worse than mediocre really. With so many great places in the area, the only reason to go here is perhaps to sit outdoors with some appetizers and house wine, which were OK . Still, hundreds of far better places between San Saba and...
Read moreMore of a 3.5 stars. I'm being lenient. This place is just okay. Decent meal. Although every dish seemed to be smothered in salt and oil - too much! Even the focaccia was a bit inedible with too much salt. The grilled calamari was nice, cooked well and a good portion. Oiled. The seafood pasta was also a large portion and flavored well. But over oiled. The grilled vegetables were a fail. Mostly burnt and shriveled. Honestly there's nothing here that you can't make just as well at home. We paid over €70 for two; normal prices to eat out in Rome. The staff was friendly, seemed to know every human that walked by or walked in. If you need dinner out just to have it this is a neighborhood restaurant. If you're looking for more,...
Read moreNice little family restaurant that has serving outside for a big part of the year. The pizza is amazing! They usually serve focaccia before the dinner and it isbthe same dough, it is sooo good! The ragu is also a big favourite. The rest of the menu is good, not absolutely perfect but taste really good and the price is ok. I have eaten steak and fish many times, but I never felt like this is the place to go for if I want to have a great steak/fish. So that's why I only give 4+.
If you go inside it is a stair down, the restaurant is in the basement - so if you are handicapped I recommend finding another restaurant...
