Read moreSaw this little place just as it opened at 6.30 so we were given a seat outside. It feels rustic and comfy, not sure what all the eclectic witchy stuff downstairs near the toilet is about though. The place fills up quickly so you either have to reserve or get there early. I don’t know the name of the man who served us (he looks like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ johnson) but he was brilliant 🤩 we ordered the garlic ciabatta, fillet mignon in green pepper sauce, the Ravioli al Ragu, and roast potatoes and Cicoria ( sautéed cichory) sides, bit too much food really we could have left the potatoes. Everything was delicious, and a 1/2 litre of house red which had good legs and was passably good, at €7.50 we were not expecting Ripasso. For dessert they recommended a dish from Napoli called Babbarum cake which wasn’t on the menu and made fresh that day, like a light sponge, soaked it a golden boozy liquor with whipped cream and berries, this was served with 2 ice cold glasses of some kind of alcoholic drink which complimented it well and settled the stomach, a fantastic end to the meal! hangover free the next day too 😜 so glad we ate here on...
Read moreDinner for two on Saturday night (didn’t make a reservation). When we first entered, it was rather quiet, but soon the restaurant was completely filled with guests.
We ordered: Seafood antipasto Assorted bruschetta Seafood spaghetti Mushroom truffle risotto Veal in masala sauce 0.5L house wine (red) ice tea
We were really satisfied. Note that the restaurant provides a basket of bread (€2) and it comes with olive oil drizzle if you wish.
The total of the bill comes to €64.50 and it was a great experience. Everything was exceptional, aside from the veal, which was very tender but it’s not “wow”, and would not order again. If we didn’t order the veal, it would have brought the bill down to €52.50 for two people.
In terms of prices, restaurant in this area is definitely more competitive than that near Colosseum and Termini. The quality of food is much higher and at night, it’s much more vibrant. Would definitely visit again!
** losing one star for the veal. The experience was great, and with the veal being the last item served and not exceptional, it dampens the...
