Biscottificio is a little out of the way shop that is well worth the journey. When I walked in the shopkeeper happily greeted me in Italian and I quickly realized that she couldn't speak English. That right there make this place Awesome. I don't know about you but I was slightly disappointed by how many shopkeepers spoke excellent English in Rome. Sure it makes the vacation less stressful. But part of the fun and making memories is that awkward language barrier mix-ups where you think you order a chicken sandwich and the waiter brings a glass of milk.
Anyways, how hard can it be to order cookies without speaking Italian. Turns out it's not that easy. At least not for me since I thought Biscotti was a type of cookie, and not as it turns out, the word for cookies in Italian. Awkward! I think the lady behind the counter assumed I was pretty dense. Read moreAn absolute must try. This small bakery is very unassuming from the outside and the inside is just as quaint, but pleasantly charming. They have tons of biscotti available and some other sweet and savoury baked goods too. We filled up a little bag of a bunch of different things. Nothing was too sweet, everything tasted fresh and delightful. You can tell that local Romans come here to bring biscotti to their gatherings. They don't serve coffee, but that's not a takeaway by any means, just more of a heads up to get one before you crush all the treats...
