In my opinion this restaurant is the best you get in Rome . The food is fresh made with high quality ingredients and the service is amazing.
I got the Ravioli, Cacio e Pepe , Caprese salad , Bruschetta and tiramisu.
Bruschetta was by far the best I have ever tried (I order this in every Italian restaurant) The bread was perfectly crispy , tomatoes were fresh it was not too salty and there was a perfect amount of olive oil used.
The Caprese salad was deconstructed but I didn't mind , the buffalo mozzarella was juicy and delicious and so was the tomato topped with the perfect amount of basil.
Both the pastas were flavourful and made in a traditional way. The ravioli was coved it the best tomato sauce I have ever tried the portion was perfect. My boyfriend had the Cacio e Pepe and would highly recommend it "perfectly cheesy , seasoned and tasty".
We shared the tiramisu as i couldn't physically eat a full desert to myself . My boyfriend loved every bit of it but for me there was something missing perhaps a bit more biscuit and rum but i was still very satisfied with it.
The waiters in this restaurant were friendly, happy to help and attentive. The food came out fast and they didn't rush us. We came around 6-7pm and it was just starting to get very busy. When we walked past it before it was fully to the brim but everyone seemed happy.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for reasonable priced great food in...
Read morePopi Popi offers an authentic Roman experience, blending classic flavors with a lively atmosphere.
The meal began with a fiore di zucca that, although visually appealing, lacked a touch of seasoning to fully enhance its delicate flavor. The supplì, on the other hand, was well-executed, with a satisfying balance of crispness and rich filling.
The cicoria e bufala dish was enjoyable, showcasing fresh ingredients, although a pinch more salt would have elevated the bitterness of the chicory, and a slightly melted mozzarella would have brought greater harmony to the plate.
The carbonara stayed faithful to the traditional spirit of the dish, offering good flavor depth. However, the texture could have benefited from a more luscious creaminess to truly capture the Roman ideal.
The pollo alla romana presented a flavorful sauce that complemented the tender meat. Personally, I would have removed the chicken skin before cooking to achieve a cleaner result, and peeled the peppers prior to preparation to enhance both the texture and taste.
The service is warm and enthusiastic, reflecting the Roman spirit. For those not accustomed to such an expressive style of hospitality, it might occasionally feel a little overwhelming, but it remains genuine and good-hearted.
Popi Popi captures the essence of Roman dining, making it a recommended stop for those seeking traditional dishes served with character...
Read moreCrunchy pizza in the middle of Rome's pulsing hearth. The Restaurant is in the middle of Trastevere, one of the most characteristic areas in Rome. I went for a Pizza, and I was surprised by the time I waited to be served. Not even 15 minutes for two pizzas which, given how much the place was crowded, it was nothing! PROS: fast enough service, thin, crunchy pizza with slightly burnt edge, the type I love. Friendly personnel, not shining for the best courtesy, but polite all the time. Tasty ingredients. Not expensive: 2 pizzas, 2 beers, 1 big water and coffee for 33 euros. Lots of locals too eating there, always a good sign! CONS: a bit over crowded, noisy, not really for a soft romantic dinner with your beloved! More like a place to start a night out with friends. Gotta go back to also try first and second courses for...
