I want to share my terrible experience here. I advise you AVOID this place at all costs if you don’t want to ruin your day if you are a foreigner.
This restaurant was recommended by a local, so we went to visit as 2 tourists. From the moment we stepped in the restaurant we noticed the hostile behavior of the waiters. Keep in mind that, I knew how to speak Italian, and even ordered in Italian, our food has arrived 40 minutes late. Meanwhile, while we were sitting, all the tables around us has started to receive their orders, and the funny thing is, they were the exact same orders, and these people have ordered a long time after us.
We wanted to change our seating, as we were seated next to 4 people while everywhere was empty, and all our requests to change our tables were completely ignored, and they didn’t even look at our faces.
After 40 minutes of waiting, and seeing that literally the table next to us was getting their Carbonara, and Cacio e Pepe delivered to them, we decided to get up and leave. So we left.
Then the waiter came running after us in the middle of Trastevere, and angrily asked us to come back and take a seat, and that we couldn’t leave like this. We said that we wanted to leave because of how we were treated, he said “Just talk with the manager”. We then returned back to the restaurant and had a talk with the manager, and the manager said, “those tables probably ordered starters, and that’s what you are seeing, the main dishes take this long to come out” but it was a blatant lie. He then said “We made these pastas, and if you leave, it’s ok, but it will go in the trash, and i can’t serve this to other customers, so please eat, and you don’t have to pay…” we were reluctant, but we said ok, and we started eating. The food was good, we are not going to lie about that.
After we ate, the waiter gave us our bill (he threw it on our table), we went to pay, and the manager was there, he gave us a 4 Euro discount only. We payed 20 euros, and we left. The bill is attached on the images.
Thanks for the terrible experience, and no, we...
Read moreUnfortunate I had a very rude and misleading experience here. Three of us walked by around 7PM on a Thursday in the bustling Trastevere after eating an earlier dinner. Most restaurants are very busy in this area, but I saw that only two of about 12 outdoor tables were in use. I went up to the waiter (who was calling to people trying to get them to sit down) and said “Hi, we are only looking to have coffee. Can we get just coffee here?” He responded in a friendly way, “Yes you can get just coffee.” I said “Okay it’s for three of us, we just had dinner so we’re just looking for drinks.” He said “Fine that’s totally fine.” I thanked him and called my group over to sit down. After we got settled he comes out and tells us “You need to order food. At least one plate. Not just coffee, you need more.” Then (a person who I assume was) the manager came over and told us, “You cannot have just coffee. You must get food,” and waved his hands shooing us away. He acted like we were inconsiderate and ridiculous for expecting otherwise and rolled his eyes with us and spoke to us in a condescending manner. We said we understood and gathered our things and left. I didn’t feel the need to say anything to them, but I thought I’d let potential future customers know you might be welcome to sit down and then treated unkindly.
I can completely understand why a restaurant would only want to serve customers who order a proper meal during dinner hours, however: I double checked with them to make sure it was okay to order just drinks. They were very misleading and rude with how they handled the situation, acting like we didn’t ask permission first and changing their mind as soon as we sat down.
I can see why they had little to no customers on an otherwise fun and busy street. Yikes! But it all worked out, because it seems like they have a pattern of being unnecessarily rude to people (just read the...
Read moreUnfortunately, I experienced terrible service. The food is overrated: homemade potatoes were brought cold, Sprite was brought with ice instead of homemade lemonade (the waiter said that homemade lemonade was available), the lamb was overcooked, the pizza was burnt, the salad didn't look fresh. A glass was not served with homemade wine - it's normal, although glasses were brought on other tables, we asked twice to bring a glass - they did not bring it. Tiramisu was carried for fifteen minutes, while the waiter (his face can be seen in the title photo) did nothing. When ordering dessert, I asked to immediately bring a check, 20 minutes passed, the check was not brought, all this time the waiter almost did not work and did nothing. A woman, a local resident, who was sitting at the next table, twice asked this waiter to bring a check, she did not receive it and went to the cashier to pay the check herself. A little later, I asked for a check at the checkout, said that I wanted to pay for dinner, explained that I had been waiting for a long time. The waiter and cashier were rude in response, thinking that I did not understand Italian at all, they began to use obscene words. Didn't give me time to check the change. Mediocre food can be understood due to the large number of customers, but rude behavior is not! I explained that this was not the way to behave. I consider the behavior of the employees of the "restaurant" unprofessional and unworthy of men. And this is the center of Italy, just a shame. The second waiter worked very quickly, tried to do everything in time - he deserves a good mark. A visit to the restaurant was recommended by a local resident - unfortunately, a waste of time and a ruined evening. Пожелание к работникам: быть мужчинами и работать, не вести себя как на дешёвом рынке, посетителям - рекомендую присмотреться к более стоящим заведениям -...
