The place looks authentic and similar to Indonesian vibe, staff seems to be nice However! The food was horrible, mushy and had nothing to do with authentic Indonesian food, which is rich in flavour and very tasteful. The menu offers a mix of Indonesian/Thai dishes, which is already a bit weird. We were a group of 5 people and waited for our food for over an hour just to be disappointed ((( our evening was ruined! When I came back home, I had food poisoning and had to take meds. Staff made a discount for us because we complained and it seemed that it has been clear for them too that something went wrong in the kitchen that night. Wash room was super disgusting as well, dirty and with a broken toilet seat lying on the floor. We won’t be coming back and will not recommend this place to any of our friends or colleagues. Improve your services and quality first, before charging people 15€+ a dish, which is not even close to the original...
Read morePros : The food was honestly good (but not amazing). The starters mostly, except the shrimp crackers (that wasn't shrimp). The decoration is beautiful and very immersive. Cons : Service needs a lot of improvement. They stress you to order quickly, stating the kitchen is super busy and then they serve you in 5 minutes, so if you want to relax and have a drink before ordering, forget it. Also, they tell you you can use the smoking area, but then they oblige to order another drink (even if your first one isn't finished)...+ they forgot our drinks 😅 Bathrooms need refurbishment, not clean and very sketchy. Lastly, the owner isn't the nicest person, doesn't speak with customers, doesn't smile at all, and feels like a police officer watching. All in all, won't go there again, just because of the...
Read moreThe best thing about Bali Bar is the space. To enter, you have to ring the bell and sometimes wait for someone to answer the door. The entrance is so nondescript it feels like a speakeasy. Once inside, the space is immense, with a beautiful bar/lounge near the entrance and the dining room so far back it surprises you how deep the building goes. The inside feels like a piece of Indonesia somehow perfectly nestled into a 16th century Roman building. It is an escape in every sense from the surrounding neighborhood of Trastevere, delivering Thai and Indonesian classics from a simple menu. If you want to take a break from Italian while spending extended time in Rome, Bali Bar is a crowd pleasing choice....
