We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights toward the end of August, 2016. This B&B is run by Daniele (male) and has 3 rooms total. We stayed in room 1. We arrived well before check in time, but Daniele let us check in about an hour after our arrival, which was nice. The room was clean, and spacious enough. The bathroom was also clean and the shower was small, as typical of most other European budget hotels and B&Bs. Wi-fi was decent. All in all, we liked our stay here, but it wasn't without some relatively minor flaws: The breakfast served is cold - no cooking allowed. Thus, it was coffee/juices/water and yogurts, croissants, bread with jam/butter and etc. Also, one day the host was out and gave us a card to eat b/fast across the street for free. However, it only entitled us to one coffee and one croissant per person. The AC takes a while to cool down the room sufficiently and even then it still felt warmer than it should have been. Rome tends to get quite hot in the summer, so AC is important. The bed was basic, with basic mattress and wasn't very comfortable. On our third day, when we returned from visiting the Vatican, electricity was out on our floor. Apparently, one of the switches in the electrical switch box was down. I didn't want to switch it back myself, but since the host was not available on site, and couldn't be reached by email, I had to switch it on myself. But before I did so, it was very uncomfortable being without AC for almost 2 hours, without light in the bathroom and without wi-fi.
I would still recommend this B&B, mainly due to its central location (about 20 mins walk to Colosseum; 25 mins walk to Vatican; 15 mins walk to Trastevere; and some 10-15 mins walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon) and mostly comfortable and spacious enough room, keeping the above in mind. *The room also has a small safe and a mini-fridge with sodas...
Read moreI booked 3 months ahead by direct phone. Daniel =helpful, good English, arranged taxi to the ship, pointed us in the correct direction. 2 seniors, 2 12 yrs. There are 4/5 rooms on the 4th floor of old building with old elevator. It works fine beside a curved 5 story staircase. Had suit for 4. Queen bed. Pullout couch. Bath is designer modern. Small kitchenette. Private outdoor patio off living area. Internet, 2 TV's. Sparkling clean. 2 blocks-Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, 5 blocks-Pantheon or river. 7ish blocks-the Jewish ghetto. Bbkft tickets for a bistro type restaurant across street. Used our ticket credits (8E ea) toward large Italian lunch, as our tours were too early to allow time to order/eat. Bought croissants, fruit, juice and wine. Used coffee machine and the frig. Price was 1/2 of nearby places that looked similar. We wear ear plugs but the street noise was not a problem 4 stories up. Needed a/c in the heat wave. The large building doors are locked in the evening. Need 3 keys to get in the B&B. Open in daytime with a door guard. Kids had our keys and ran ahead to the room. We were locked out...twice. Took a little street yelling to get kids' attention. Daniel let us in early, as they cleaned. He arranged a taxi to the cruise, lent us an extra adaptor. Taxis are...
Read moreFiance and I stayed here for four nights during the end of May 2016. The location is superb! Within walking distance of all the sights of Rome and it truly is at the center. There are several nice restaurants and bakeries very close by, with a grocery store for other items just up the block. The room was small, but perfect for its purpose of a place to sleep, with good A/C. It was clean, secure, and the owners are very friendly. Breakfast is nice with several pastries and coffee. I definitely recommend this place and would stay here again if I visited Rome...
