Cantina Ripagrande — Restaurant in Rome

Didn't feel welcome at all. We were five guys, saw this place a couple of times while passing through, looked really good but we had a really bad experience when going on.

We asked if we could sit outside, they didn't like that. Started doing some jokes about that. We left out of fear that they woukd spit in our food.

I mean if sitting outside wasn't an option they could have just told us that. Isn't like this on all restaurants at Rome, this has been the first time and hopefully last one.

arrived here at 12pm in the pouring rain hoping for food still available. the place was still very busy and the lovely chef said we could have hummus + bread or cheese/ meat + bread. if i’m honest, €8 was a steep price for the size of the hummus (it was miniature) but very tasty homemade. the cheeses and meats we didn’t try as they were €16. the drinks were nice - spritz cost €8. One of the rare occasions i ended up in a place without planning and reviewing online first. But Cantina Ripagrande didn't disappoint! More than that, it was a really lovely place with a great service. It might not be at the nicest part of Trastevere, but surely you get one of the nicest guys to serve you, and also great food. This time we went for appetizers and some dolci only, but all of them were great. I will come back here to taste more of their...
