Casina Azzurra Bar Ristorante — Restaurant in Rome

Didn't eat at the restaurant, but got a gelato in the front. They totally ripped me off as a tourist.

I told the scooper I want a small scoop of mint. It was 2.50 € then quickly proceeded with the question but I only have a 50, is that okay or should I use card he said a 50 was okay. But grabbed the larger one and I said please no I'm already eating enough pizza and gelato, just the small. He said I need to do the 5€ to break the 50. so I said okay I have 2.50€ and got it from my mom. Gave it to him as he gave me the single scoop and said no 3.50€. I didn't want to make a scene so whatever.

He spoke perfect English. Didn't actually scoop anything into another cup. Just purely over charged me...

Messed my order up, besides being asked 4x + if I wanted bread NO I don't want bread!! I ended up with 2 mains (only wanted 1) and a starter. Starter was ok, 2 mains dreadful, pasta had been under cooked or left under a heat lamp it was hard, the other Fruitta Calamari was greasy & soggy. Left almost all of it. We then get a whopping €86.50 bill .. beer €6.50 each, charged €3 for some slop dip I DIDN'T ask for & the waiter on taking the payment asked for a tip.. Took €87 & didn't even bring the 50c back "Seriously" ? ...

Trashy food, dumpy music, worst experience. Had a simple meal and 2 tea for two due to convenient location in park across from National Roman Museum (no cafeteria inside). Ask for hot water refill - denied. Ask for gelato but require a minimum of two scoops to eat onsite but we need hot drinks to go with our ice cream :-(. Took away teapots even when they are...
