I booked an economy room because it's just me and the use of the room was for sleeping, showers and getting dressed The day in Rome is to be spent out in the city until late Which is why I didn't really mind too much as it was only for three nights But... My room didn't even have a window (I'm not even sure if that's legal) so it made my night very restless as I never knew what time it was without looking at my phone It was small, but that wasn't the issue, the wardrobe only opened one side due to the desk being against one door and the bath was only big enough to sit down in with your knees up Also, because the key was a heavy, bulky brass door knob shape, you had to leave it with the receptionist when you left and collect it when you got back I know that the cleaner goes in but I didn't really like that they had access to your room when you weren't there There was a safe which was free to use, when it worked (they had to come and fix it because the battery had run out) It was not very soundproof, I could hear the people out in the corridor and upstairs when the toilet flushed And the light in the corridor came through a window at the top of the door so there was always a glow in the room But the staff and receptionists were always friendly and it was a good location as only 10 mins away from Rome Termini station and about 20-25 mins walk to the Trevi Fountain

Very convenient location, easily walkable from Roma Termini. Since the roads and walkways of Rome are made of Roman cobblestones, it's close by location to the terminal makes it easier to drag your luggage. Of course you can always get a taxi, but our travel style is walking so this fits. The termini is the central bus and subway station so it's easy if you want to use public transportation if you want to. There's always a concierge, very attentive and professional, we leave our room keys each time, the key is on a big heavy brass holder, you will want to leave it with him. Room gets cleaned every day, fresh towels daily. Plenty of hot water in the shower, no tub in our room but that's not needed. Breakfast is good, some deli meat, boiled eggs, croissants and others, a tart or two, yogurt, bowl of fresh fruit salad and a espresso/coffee machine. More than enough to power you till dinner. Across is an American themed restaurant, and all around are good Italian restaurants. A convenience store right across for anything you might need. If you can walk 2 kilometers from the hotel, you can get to see the free sights of Rome like Trevi fountain, Pantheon, piazza Navona then ride the bus or train back.

The hotel is situated very close to Roma termini train station. Easy to reach and it's not too far from the city center and main attractions. Convenient place for accommodation while in Rome, we only needed to use public transport a few times during our 5 day stay. The interior is spectacular, with beautiful paintings, vases and antique furniture. It has several very comfortable spaces / rooms to hang around. The staff members were all nice and friendly. The room was decent, nothing fancy but inexpensive and we couldn't have expected anything more. The first night we only had one bed sheet / linen made up and we needed an extra one. The hotel staff was helpful and brought what we asked for even though it was late. It took a bit long but all got sorted. What surprised the most were the pillows. Very comfortable and sturdy, not the mushy ones used in most hotels. This really enhanced our rest and sleep quality. We didn't order breakfast but quickly browsed around the buffet area during the breakfast hours and eveything looked tasty and fresh.

Hotel Impero single handedly RUINED our family reunion in Rome!!!

The hotel itself is conveniently located close to Rome Termini train station and the metro

WiFi and breakfast are basic and do the job.

Rooms, clean but dated

The district seems rough enough…I personally wouldn’t roam this district after dark

If the hotel had behaved in a decent manner I’d have happily given a 4 star review but what they did was totally out of order…..

We were a large family group (16 people, adults & children) meeting in Rome from all over Europe, for a family reunion, first in 10years where we were all to be together.

We had booked the rooms 6 months in advance at a reasonable rate and 6 days before arrival date the hotel tried to take “full payment” from the credit cards, not a pre-approval … but an actual full payment!!! Despite their booking information saying full payment was not required

Some of the households involved with this trip had been budgeting carefully to achieve this trip and did not have the budget to pay the full amount on their credit card before arriving in Rome, and without any discussion hotel management cancelled the booking, because the attempted full drawdown of the hotel charges 6 days before arrival had been refused by the credit card company.

Despite several emails & phone calls, they insisted the booking was cancelled and a new one would need to be made. Original booking was €275 and new one would be €800. The were VERY rude and ignorant in all of these communications, bringing to a new level the ignorance I’ve experienced in situations like this. As can be imagined this ruined the trip for the whole family group as some parties in the main group had to find alternative accommodations at a considerable distance away at such short notice … leaving a sour taste on our Rome reunion trip

Never again will we ever trust in a trip to Rome, Hotel Impero were the quintessential...

1 Star, actually we would rather give one star but there isn’t. We are no people which are difficult to satisfy but we have to be honest about this very bad place. Never been to an hotel this uncomfortable. The check in was nice and also the entry looked kind of pretty (like the pictures we saw on their Website). But this was a total lie. We came into our stinky room with a very uncomfortable and hard Bed. The cleaning situation was okay but the Bathroomsmell was not to handle. Also the Hairdryer wasn’t working. So okay, we tried to see it positive and just to think about this beautiful city and let the window (ugly view, just other windows of apartment, no privacy) After we came back of a wonderful day in Rome we just wanted to relax in bed and than we found out our window isn’t closing anymore. Positive was that they directly gave us a new room. Negative - the even didn’t checked the window. So the story goes on. After we came to our new room the same joke started from the beginning. View with no privacy, so bad smell, broken hairdryer, no connection to the TV, uncomfortable bed and there were even wet Walls!! Fortunately the WiFi was working and the window was not broken. The night was good bevause we were just tired from the day. The Morning we tried the breakfast. Like the hotel in general. We were also disappointed. Nothing fresh. Even the “fruitsalade” was just a weird Apple Salad. Advice to everyone booking this Breakfast: Order your coffe direclty from the Stuff. The other one is sadly Not at all drinkable. So our feedback is never book again a hotel near the trainstation and never trust the pictures on the Hotel website. Today we can laugh about this experience and we loved Rome so much, so we had 2 wonderful days. But the stay in this place was just strange, horrorfiyng and with 0% of Atmosphere or neither Comfort. Fortunately it was just one night....

We had an amazing stay at the Hotel Impero! Its central location made it incredibly convenient to explore all the city's attractions on foot. Just a 2-minute walk from one of the main streets with shops and a beautiful square, and the train station is also nearby. The abundance of excellent restaurants around added to the overall charm. Despite being reasonably priced, the hotel offered exceptional comfort.

The daily room cleaning, towel replacement, and bed preparation made the stay even more enjoyable. The staff was exceptionally friendly.

With a special shout-out to Manuel at the reception who went above and beyond. His welcoming demeanor and genuine eagerness to assist created a warm and inviting atmosphere. His professionalism and friendliness stood out. It's evident that he takes pride in ensuring guests have a memorable experience.

The rooftop terrace was a delightful surprise, providing a breathtaking view that everyone can savor. I highly recommend this hotel for its affordability, comfort, and the fantastic experience it offers.

I'd like to add another positive note to our experience at the hotel. During our check-out, the receptionist was very helpful by assisting us with our flight tickets and finding the terminal we fly from. His welcoming and friendly manner added a delightful touch to the end of our stay. Although we missed getting his name, we want to extend a big thank you to him for the excellent service.

Moreover, the airport transfer provided by the hotel was remarkably comfortable and swift, contributing to an overall...
