Last week, I had the pleasure of indulging in the most delectable homemade spaghetti I've ever tasted at a charming little restaurant in Rome. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality by the lovely couple who run the place.

Dining at Quel che c’è Laboratorio di Cucina was one of the more memorable meals I’ve had in Italy—and honestly, it bordered on a spiritual experience.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like part of the family. The team welcomed me with such warmth and genuine hospitality that it felt less like a restaurant visit and more like being invited to someone’s home. The atmosphere is relaxed, intimate, and full of heart.

I ordered the ravioli with Parmigiano and pistachios, topped with burrata, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Every element was perfectly balanced—the richness of the cheese, the subtle crunch of the pistachios, the creamy burrata melting just over the pasta. You can tell that every dish is made with love, care, and serious culinary skill.

We were looking for amazing food in the area where we are staying (which is mostly very touristy places). This place is highly reviewed and those reviews are all well-deserved. We got there as it opened so didn't have to wait. It's very small so unless you're early or have impeccable timing, expect to wait. I got the gnocchi with gorgonzola cheese and asparagus...absolutely delicious. It's made fresh right where you can watch, quick and friendly service, pretty perfect. I tried my friend's pistachio tiramasu and it was the best I've ever had. So light and fluffy, not too rich, cocoa sprinkled on top. Just wow.

We will definitely be going back each evening for the rest of our stay here.

*Edited to add: we did indeed go back every night of our stay. The pesto ravioli was beyond amazing. And the carbonara is just wow.
