Food was good. We were first asked if we had a reservation, when the other parties before us were seated immediately. After we were seated, we were enjoying our dinner until the atmosphere became a little jaded. An older woman who I would assume is the owner, spoke to two other tables who happened to be white, that were on both sides of us. While she was speaking to them she had her behind in our food and was dusting her pants while we were eating the food. We didn’t say anything, thinking it was a one time thing. The second time she came to the other table, doing the same thing, my husband simply tapped her on the shoulder and said “excuse me” and after that we were ignored by all staff. We asked for the bill shortly after because we felt a shift after that interaction, and had to wait 30 minutes while we saw another table get taken care of immediately. As a black couple we felt discriminated against and what began as a great evening became the worst service I’ve had. Also there is an extra fee of 2.50 euro of the owner. Not sure if that is for...
Read moreUPDATE: shortly after posting this review I came down with a terrible case of food poisoning from this restaurant. Stay far away from it!!
We went here for dinner and unfortunately the food was very disappointing. I ordered the fillet between medium-rare and medium; instead, it was nearly well-done, and extremely tough. The sauce and accompanying vegetables were bland. I also found it odd that they didn't provide a steak knife or sharper knife to cut the steak (maybe that was a sign that I shouldn't have ordered the steak...)
Aside from that, the service was inconsistent. For example, most diners received bread when they were seated, while we received bread after our main courses arrived. This is not a big deal, but it's a bit odd, especially when my wife orders a pasta dish and I order a side of potatoes - who wants to eat bread with that?
Overall, we were not impressed with the quality of the food. We spent 4 nights in Rome and this was by far the worst meal we had. Look elsewhere if you want good...
Read moreWe had an amazing dinner last night at Cucina del Teatro, a true gem in the heart of Rome. From the moment we arrived, the team welcomed us with warmth and attention that made us feel instantly at home.
We started with a delicious burrata served with fresh, flavorful tomatoes, simple yet incredibly tasty. The grilled calamari and octopus were cooked to perfection, tender with just the right char. We paired everything with a chilled bottle of Vermentino di Sardegna, which was crisp, refreshing, and complemented the meal beautifully.
Every detail was spot-on, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined. The staff were not only friendly but also genuinely passionate about their food and service. We left absolutely delighted and are already planning to return before we leave Rome.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic flavors and warm...
