This is the worst restaurant I've eaten at in Rome after 7 days, I just don't understand how it can have a 4.8 rating. Bad sign that it was almost empty on Sunday at 8pm, while Emma next door was packed and didn't have any tables nearby (while having a 4.2 rating). Hamburger ordered for child, it was served without a bun and medium rare. Server never asked how we wanted it cooked and were very surprised that it came medium rare for a child, who refused to eat it beyond the edges. I ordered a fried salami pizza and it was the single worst meal I've had in Rome and Italy. It was inedible. I eat maybe 1/5 of a it. Other person ordered a Prochiutto Pizza with argula. The served them a margherita pizza and served the Prochiutto and argula on the side. I wish the service was good, but it wasn't. It was a hot day, we ran out of water and asked for another bottle and waited, waited and waited. The waitress would not look in our direction at all. I could not eat my pizza without a drink, no one offered to help, until I got up walked to find the server and asked for the water. She apparently forgot. The server also struggled remembering our orders, asking us to repeat them 3 times. It was more like she was a fashion model than a waitress. This is the kind of place this is. Food terrible, service poor, place looks like a trendy cocktail bar. If you want food, skip this place. Worst mistake in Rome. Too bad Emma was fully booked.
EDIT: I just read the response and it is full of lies. I am the husband. I never said the pizza was good to anyone, it was terrible. Anyone would know because I only ate a tiny bit of it. If you asked, I would have told you it was terrible and how your server was terrible because she didn't seem to know the basics of being a server. The server NEVER asked how the hamburger was to be cooked. That is a lie. The menu does NOT say there is no bun/bread. In fact, there is an actual drawing with a picture of a hamburger with a bun on the menu. It is online, everyone can go look what a complete liar you are. In fact, I am going to post a photo of your menu. As for the restaurant being empty, the are not many outside tables, and they were full. But the restaurant inside is very large, and I only saw 4 tables with people. My entire side of the restaurant only had 2 tables with people (including mine with guests). For a restaurant your size, it was incredible that a 4.8 restaurant had so many empty tables, more than half the restaurant was empty. That's just doesn't happen. Warning diners to be wary of the 4.8. This is not a 4.8 quality restaurant. Googlers, just read their response to see if this is the kind of business you want to patronize. If you are the women I paid at the front (because I never saw my server again) you should have saw visible angry I was at our poor meal, yet you never even asked how it was. As I would have told you to your face how awful it was. But you didn't. You just said good bye, and I just assumed you didn't care and we just wanted to leave. EDIT2: Owner is implying this was a mistranslation of the menu. It is the same in both the Italian and English version of the menu. There is no clear explanation that there is no bun and the Hamburger does not mean a sandwich. So the response below has...

Pros: The only highlight of this restaurant is Jenna, one of the staff members. She is nice, friendly, and helpful.
Cons: The owner Jenna is unbelievably arrogant, rude, and lacks a basic understanding of customer service.
The food was awful. We ordered a Carbonara, a meatball pasta, and a seafood pizza. The Carbonara was everything I dislike about pasta: dry, chewy (not freshly made, and undercooked in the Italian style), and super heavy. The recommended seafood pizza was a total nightmare: a flavorless pistachio base with overly salted calamari. It was dry, unevenly salted, and inedible. We sent the pizza back after one bite.
When we complained about the pizza, we were still charged for it. Having worked in the F&B industry for over 20 years, I have never been treated this badly.
I am genuinely surprised by Elysium's 4.7-star rating. In my opinion, it barely...
