Terrible place with awful, awful staff! SERVED GLUTEN TO AN GLUTAN -INTOLERANT . I came here specifically because of their gluten-free food. Online they market themselves as a gluten-free restaurant, and both on the front door and on the menu they use a big logo of crossed out wheat. We got seated in a dodgy alley, with graffiti and a dumpster and handed a menu with 9,5 euro pizzas which is not a good price considering there was almost no topping on them. I reacted on the texture and sure enough they had served me a pizza WITH GLUTEN!! Making that mistake as a restaurant marketing themselves as gluten free is bad but even worse is that they were really rude, bad mouthing me in Italian, saying that i was the one to blame because I ordered from the "regular" menu (which had been handed to me and had the logo on it). Terrible, terrible staff that didn't take any responsibility, charged for it and...
Read moreOur son is allergic to gluten so this place was like heaven to him! Simply put, these folks do miracles with gluten free pizza and pasta. (They have separate menus for gluten free options.)
My wife and I don’t have such issues but we still eat here regularly when we visit. This restaurant has no atmosphere. It has doesn’t overlook anything. It’s small, even cramped but they do what they do (pizza and pasta) very well. It is served hot and they have very generous portions. While I’m not a fan of their preparation of cacio e Pepe - I think the pesto, pomodoro - and aglio, olio & pepperonicino are all very good.
Look, this is a simple place. This rating is based on what they set out to be - and they do it very well. If you want atmosphere, romance, wine selection, etc - go somewhere else. If you want a good meal for a good price - and ESPECIALLY if you want gluten free - then this a really great...
Read moreWe came here three times during our 2 week stay. My partner is celiac and vegetarian whereas I eat everything, and both of us were consistently blown away by their phenomenal food. Their gluten free pizza crust is incredible - it’s crispy, flavoursome and not gummy at all which is what you get with bad gluten free crusts. Highly recommend their bruschetta with olive tapenade & fresh tomatoes and their zucchini pizza - we’ll be thinking about those dishes for a long time! We also loved their pastas and ordered many of the traditional Roman pastas: cacio e pepe, carbonara and amatriciana. My partner also vouched for the aglio olio e peperoncino as well. The waitstaff was very friendly and professional each time we went to Voglia - you can tell they take dietary requirements very seriously. Whether you’re celiac or not, I’d highly recommend this restaurant when...
