Il Carroccio — Restaurant in Rome

Probably the worst restaurant in Rome. If I could give it lower than one star I would've given it comfortably a -10.

I reserved a table for 7 people at 21:30 Got there we had to wait 10 minutes outside because the person in charge forgot that we were there.( I had to ask twice) -We weren't mad that we had to wait.

We sit and we ask for the menu and the waitress said you can search for them on the internet,"type pizzeria Carroccio" but with an attitude.. So we order some antipasti and 7 pizzas..

And 45 minutes later! the waitress came with our antipasti and mix of fries(Could've been better)

Whenever you call for this waitress she just chooses not to hear you. I don't know, this waitress in particular gave out bad vibes. You can say that she could be the reason you won't go back there because she could easily ruin a lovely night.

THE MAIN REASON that made me write this review was that At one point after we ate our antipasti maybe 15 minutes later..the boss(person in charge) comes and says "we have a problem, A BIG problem" and then continues to tell us that they can't make us 7 pizzas they can make only 4 and i ask how come.. The response was" we didn't pay attention and we had people who ordered online so he had to do pizzas for them". Which was Absurd to hear! Eventually we decide to order the 4 pizzas and some more stuff.

THEY BROUGHT US The wrong pizzas!! Saying that they were ready ! (Basically they chose which 4 pizzas to make of the 7 without asking us!!) This restaurant ISN'T ORGANISED! They offered us some dessert but they weren't good either.

Basically: Food: 3 out of 10 Service:0 out of 10 Atmosphere: 0 out of 10 with that curly hair waitress roaming around spreading her bad vibes around

Do yourself a favour and don't go to...

My daughter suggested Il Carroccio for dinner tonight. The reviews looked good so we trekked across town (not to difficult via metro). The supplí was average, the “side” salad fed my family of 6, which was nice. The bufala bruschetta was really good! One daughter got gnocchi and it was average. The pesto wasn’t fluorescent green like it should be if it’s fresh. And it tasted kind of strange. Not Genovese. The pizza was a solid 5⭐️. My daughter got a veg cappriciosa. She loved it. My spaghetti alla carbonara was a little dry and salty but had better flavor than others I’ve tried in the city. Carbonara shouldn’t be served on rigatoni. IMHO. So an extra ⭐️ For that. :) My husband had the veal and gave it 4 stars. Bonus is that it came with French fries. The coke comes in liter bottles also so that’s an extra star all by itself. 😂 The inside has quite a few tables so there’s plenty of room. And the atmosphere is cozy, family style. La mia prima recensione, per questo locale, scritta, diversi anni fa, con una valutazione di 5 stelle, oggi, inevitabilmente, subisce un tonfo, ad una stella....dopo che, per ben tre volte, ci si è trovati, di fronte, a cibo, trattamento e conto, assolutamente insoddisfacenti, rispetto al passato...."dalle stelle alle stalle", come si suol dire! e, si sa, dopo tre volte, che si ripete un fenomeno, si dice che sia, scienza!, ovvero, s'è obbligati a prendere atto, dell'involuzione e...cambiare sicuramente, opinione e rotta!... Riportero', di seguito, la prima recensione che venne scritta, tanti anni fa e, poi, quella attuale, riportando, semplicemente, i messaggi scambiati su WhatsApp, con la Referente della pizzeria...infatti, stavolta, s'è trattato d'un take away, per lasciare libero, il tavolo che non s'era prenotato, in pochissimo tempo, dopo aver consumato, seduti, solo dei fritti... Ecco la vecchia recensione: "La mia Pizzeria preferita, per una vera pizza napoletana! A seguito della pandemia, da tempo, ormai, non era stato più possibile trascorrervi una piacevole serata, in compagnia, in questo ambiente confortevole; e, finalmente, il ritorno! Un revival più che soddisfacente! Una serata in amichevole compagnia, con del buon cibo, dall'antipasto di pizzeria ai dolci napoletani e non solo...si, un bel colpo per colesterolo e...diabete; ma...ci voleva!" Ed ora, ahimè", invece , si riportano direttamente i messaggi scambiati, su WhatsApp con la Referente del locale, dopo la recente "sola" di domenica 21 gennaio c.a.: "Buonasera! Mi permetto di scrivere il seguente messaggio, soltanto perché mi considero Cliente, ormai, da diversi anni...e non m'aspettavo, il trattamento ricevuto, per il take away di stasera, che ha lasciato particolarmente sorpresi e contrariati... infatti, quasi tutto quello ch'è stato ordinato e pagato per porzione intera s'è ritrovato essere, di fatto, meno d'una "mezza porzione baby"; ci si riferisce in particolare, alla torta rustica ed a quelle che avrebbero dovuto essere due porzioni di millefoglie (senza neanche lo sciroppo d'amarena con cui solitamente guarnite!, ma, questo, "poco male"!); mentre, supplì e pizza bruciati... Mi sono preoccupata di lasciarvi libero il tavolo, in tutta fretta e mi sono ritrovata questa spiacevole sorpresa, a casa!... Purtroppo, questo lascia molto male!..." La risposta: "Mi dispiace e mi scuso per l'accaduto." La replica, inevitabile: "Onestamente, mi sembra un po' pochino, dopo aver pagato come porzioni intere, mezze porzioni, e con tutto il resto già scritto prima; inoltre, la pizza metà margherita e metà salsiccia e friarielli pagata come tutta salsiccia e friarielli!... È, a me che dispiace... perché dopo avervi sempre decantato, per anni e portato amici e conoscenti, sono costretta a dire ch'è così che si perdono i Clienti! Peccato!" Sarebbe vergognoso anche nei confronti d'un Turista di passaggio!!!! È veramente una triste sorpresa ritrovarsi a dover constatare un tale trattamento e, sentirsi così miseramente... presi pure per i fondelli! Carroccio...
