Trattoria Guerra — Restaurant in Rome

My fiancé and I were celebrating our engagement at this small but quaint restaurant as we were staying at a hotel nearby and were looking for something with traditional on our last night in Roma. We came in and ordered the Pasta Pesto and Pasta Cabonara and were delighted with some of the best pasta we’ve had in Rome. Alongside we ordered the Roast Beef and Meatballs with Zucchini and finished out plates even as we were stuffed! The food was delicious alongside a bottle of white wine (15 euros) and sparkling water. The restaurant owner served us personally and was very respectful. The waitstaff understood English and made the experience easy. As Americans, we need to be respectful and polite and they showed us with the exact same treatment. This was out favorite dinner of the entire trip and we ate at some of the more recommended spots in Italy and found that they treated Americans less respectfully than Trattoria Guerra. Bravo! The food was out fast and they respected the time we took to eat. Would definitely recommend this to others and would say try anything...

We arrived at 1.15 PM, it was empty, no line. Tried the 5 eur menu and it was good. Very good value for money, portion is good, and it's delicious. I gave a 4 star review because there is room for improvement. The staff could throw a smile here and there, but they look dead . I saw the owner's comment that you can't have everything with 5 Eur about a similar comment, but being pleasant and nice has nothing to do with how much you pay. Teach your staff that paying less does not equal being treated poorly. + the cafe has suger, without taking in consideration people who do not consume sugar or who are diabetic. Pranzo nel fine settimana, con menù fisso a 5 euro a persona: primo (amatriciana), acqua e vino, caffè. Ottimo in rapporto al prezzo economico. Non c'è possibilità di scelta, ma comprensibile. Peccato per la mancanza di comunicazione dei camerieri, che non parlano, non spiegano assolutamente il funzionamento del servizio, riportato semplicemente su una lavagnetta, portano il piatto senza fiatare e portano il caffè con ancora il primo in tavola. Insomma, consigliatissimo per un pranzo tranquillo, abbastanza rapido e sicuramente economico. Peccato per il servizio, ma nulla di grave.

RISPOSTA AL PROPRIETARIO: Gentilissimo, io non rivendico niente. Le ho lasciato una recensione, soggettiva perché le recensioni possono essere solamente soggettive, della mia esperienza. Se avessi rivendicato qualsivoglia servizio, non le avrei accordato certamente 4 stelle, non pensa? Avendole invece lasciato una recensione positiva, ritengo di non pretendere nulla. Non mi pare infatti di aver preteso alcun servizio, anzi se rilegge ciò che ho scritto noterà proprio che ho giustificato, a causa del prezzo economico, queste pretese mancanze (pretese perché le ha citate lei, assolutamente non io). La invito dunque gentilmente a rileggere meglio la recensione, con calma. Infine, le ricordo che la gentilezza, la cordialità, un sorriso e una parola garbata non sono servizi, ma basica educazione umana. L'educazione non costa a lei e non la devo pagare io. Non è difficile: basta sorridere, salutare e un semplice "come è andata?" oppure un "arrivederci, buona giornata". Ovviamente ciò non inficia sulla valutazione del suo esercizio, visto che giudico il locale. Le ricordo comunque che ho consigliato il suo ristorante, dunque la invito ancora una volta a leggere meglio. Posso pure capire i dipendenti, magari...
