We came in with high hopes after seeing this trattoria all over TikTok. My daughter was thrilled at the thought of spotting Chef Tony, and we were lucky to walk in right after the 5:30pm reopening.
As a family of six, we expected to squeeze in, but staff flat-out refused to seat us together. Fine… we made do. The bread that arrived stale, no big deal, probably leftovers from before their mid-day break.
Then came the real disappointment: now settled, we were asked to move because our two tables were “too prime” as the rush began. When the head waiter took our order, we declined water (planning wine, beer, and sodas instead). He scolded us, literally wagged his finger and pointing, muttering “it’s not nice” as if ordering bottled water was mandatory. From that point forward, service nosedived. Our server ignored us, dishes were dropped at the table without a word, and the bill showed up scribbled on a Post-it with a gesture to the door.
The food itself? A solid 7/10 overall. The service? 1/10. The whole vibe was “eat fast, pay, and leave.” No warmth, no hospitality, just turnover.
This trattoria feels like a victim of its own TikTok fame - endless lines of tourists, so the staff doesn’t care if one table walks away unhappy. Maybe it was once a gem. However for me, I felt disposable, as if my experience mattered less than my money.

We decided to dine at La Tavernetta 29 da Tony e Andrea after seeing its glowing reviews on TikTok, particularly for its carbonara, which we were really looking forward to trying. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to expectations.
Firstly, we were seated at a table by the front door, which wasn’t an issue at first. However, it quickly became frustrating as staff members were constantly coming in and out with deliveries. It felt incredibly unprofessional to have a steady stream of people carrying large supply boxes through the restaurant while customers were trying to enjoy their meals. The lack of organization in handling deliveries created an unpleasant dining atmosphere.
To make matters worse, one of the staff members placed multiple meat boxes on a table and began unpacking them while leaving both the fridge and restaurant door wide open. This caused distress to my partner, making it so cold that she had to put on her jacket just to stay comfortable. It was an unacceptable level of disruption that made our dining experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Lastly, the highlight of our visit—the carbonara—was a huge disappointment. Instead of the rich and creamy dish we had expected, the pasta was drenched in oil, which pooled at the bottom of the plate.
