Sadly, one of the worst meals I have ever had. There was no flavour to any of the dishes, just an overwhelming greasy taste and texture that lingered after we left. Nothing tasted fresh or good quality. The antipasto was poor and very greasy, not like a good quality olive oil taste either. The lasagna had very little meat ragu and suspect to be frozen/microwaved. We’ve had better shop bought ones. The sea bass also did not taste fresh, like eating paper drowned in flavourless oil. The service was poor and they made no apology that we hadn’t enjoyed the meal. Obviously we didn’t stay for dessert but they tried to push it twice after we had said we hadn’t enjoyed it and asked for the bill. They continued to charge a service charge regardless which would have been a token gesture. Very disappointing experience and would advise others to choose somewhere else.

Edit following reponse: In my opinion, I maintain that the restaurant was of poor quality and as such, poor value for money. Not once did anyone ask how the dinner was going, we noted you asked other diners but not us. Had you asked when the starter was taken away we would have told you. We did not and I would never have responded that everything was good and delicious because it was not. Having seen better reviews for the same mains we had chosen we were hopeful that the main course would be better but it wasn’t. You did not ask how the main was, just if we had finished and we left most of the food. I told the waiter that it was very bland and disappointing, he continued smiling and offered dessert, to which I said no, because the food was bad in case he did not understand the first time and asked for the bill. I was surprised you didn’t offer to at least remove the service charge considering we did not enjoy the meal and I wrote the review to simply advise others of our disappointing experience and the lack of service we received. I ordered sea bass and if was good I would have no issue with the price. I have had it several times before and this was the worst one I have ever had. In my opinion, compared to the various other times I have had it, it did not taste fresh or as flavourful. There was no beef fillet in the portion of the lasagna that was eaten, we might have been unlucky but again having had lasagna several times before, this was the worst we have ever had. The menu is not much different to any Italian restaurant, we are very familiar with the type of food and have eaten in many high quality restaurants, including those with 3 Michelin stars. We have had better food, the exact same dishes, in other places and so would rate the food and service here as...

So the place looks very nice and the reception was very warm.

We received the menus, we ordered “ Cotoletta alla "Milanese con patate fritte” - Veal “Milan” Style with fries.

I even asked if the steak is grilled, I was told, no, it’s deep fried. I was asked “side dishes ?” - even the waiter said “ah no, it comes with fries”.

He asked if we want sparkling or still water, we said still and I was asked if I want the wine list, which I said yes.

After my second cigarette, I asked again about the wine list. Couple minutes after, I was asked if I wanted red or white, I said red. It came the white wine list. Before making myself wait again for the red wine list I said “bring me a glass of a dry red wine, a nice one please”. The wine came.

After a while (not much) the food came. Clearly not the same as we order for many reasons, but mainly because the steak was grilled and instead of fries came salad. -We said, wrong table.

One minute later, the waiter from which we order came with the same dishes, we said again, no, we didn’t ordered this, there is no fries and it’s grilled . “Ahhh.. potatoes, it’s coming, it’s coming”.

After like, 5 times asking for the “fries” to 3 different waiters, after we finish the steaks, the “fries” came. Roasted (?!).

I said, “no. It’s wrong. Bring the bill please” - even tho I wanted to eat a tiramisu (lol), now, happy for the tiramisu doesn’t come as lemon pie.

The waiter bring the bill. 60€ + 15€ (this 15€ handwritten saying something about tips lol). Looks like the tip it’s mandatory here.

I asked for the POS. I end up paying 75€. I requested the invoice, it comes with 60€.

Pics attached.

Obs: the steak was very tender and...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sabatini in Trastevere, Rome, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Piazza di Santa Maria, this restaurant offers not only a meal but a journey into the rich history of Roman cuisine.

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the charming atmosphere that perfectly blends traditional Roman elements with a touch of modern elegance. The outdoor seating provides a stunning view of the piazza, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely meal.

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the flounder. Cooked to perfection, it was fresh and flavorful, embodying the essence of Mediterranean seafood. The dish was complemented by a selection of Pachino tomatoes and Porcini mushrooms, which added a delightful depth of flavor. Each bite was a testament to Sabatini’s commitment to quality and authenticity.

The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who were both professional and welcoming. They ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. In addition to the exquisite food and excellent service, Sabatini’s extensive wine list offers something for every palate, enhancing the overall dining experience.

For anyone seeking an authentic taste of Rome in a setting that is both historic and vibrant, Sabatini is a must-visit. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this restaurant promises an evening filled with culinary delights and warm hospitality. Highly...

TOURIST TRAP! We sat at a nice table. Quickly waited on. Ordered pasta carbonara. Just ok. At the beginning of the meal a “chef” came out and asked how the food was. We said good. Then the chef came out at the end of the meal and insisted that we left him a positive review! The nerve! He even pulled out his phone to give me a square to tap on in order to do it right away! Unbelievable! For 2 plates of pasta, bread water and nothing else, it’s 51 Euros. My husband taps his Canadian credit card. The main waiter says “ oh you’re from Canada? ´´ I said yes. He leaned forward real close and said you know that the tip is not included in this amount? I said « what ? » he repeated that the tip was not included. I quickly said that this was Europe. There’s no tipping in Europe. You can round up a bill or add 1-2 E if you think the service was superior which it wasn’t. He insisted « ya but I gave you good service you tip ok » Not one Euro extra given. They tried to intimidate and extort from Canadian tourists and we do not accept that! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! The chef gets his review! RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: In America we don’t force people to make a review. We feel grateful when we get one. As for your head waiter, maybe keep a better eye on his behaviour. Everything I wrote is the honest truth. *We had way better food and service (0 pressure for reviews or tipping)at La Tavernetta 29 da Tony e Andrea in Trastevere! You made your bed now sleep in it!

This little gem is tucked away on Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere, and man, it’s the real deal. The food here is like a warm hug from your Nonna—it’s that good! I had the carbonara, and folks, it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The pasta was perfect, and the sauces? Outta this world. The service? Top-notch. The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable, and will even guide you through the menu like they’ve been workin’ there their whole lives. They even gave us some great wine recommendations from the local area, which made the meal even better. The vibe of the place is somethin’ special, too. It’s cozy, romantic, and gives you that feel of stepping back in time. You’re gonna wanna sit back, relax, and soak in the charm of this place. The only downside? It’s a little on the pricey side, but hey, you get what you pay for, and trust me, it's worth every penny. We had a fantastic experience, and the chef himself even came by our table to check on us—how’s that for personal touch? And let me just say, if you’re a fan of seafood, this place nails it. The raw fish was fantastic, especially the Gillardeau oysters and Mazara shrimp. The spaghettoni? Definitely try ‘em, they’re somethin’ special. And don’t skip the tiramisù—it’ll knock your socks off.
