I'm in Rome eating pizza. Does it get better than that? In between sightseeing stops (Vatican City!) , it was time for lunch.
Alice is pretty standard for these quick eats. Pick your pizza from the several types on display, describe a size and your pizza is priced by weight. Heated up and ready to go in a small shop that is not designed for lingering. Perfectly okay with me.
I chose a simple pizza with red sauce, fresh tomatoes, ricotta cheese and fresh basil. With a beer on the side, it was a perfect meal. Delicious and fresh and quite inexpensive. Yum!

Read moreThis was our first meal upon arriving in Rome, and we weren't all that impressed. The person at the counter who took our order was not friendly at all and did not have good customer service. Even though we were not locals and didn't know much Italian, we were hungry and tired and tried our best to be polite. We were eating before the typical dinner hour, so it was not crowded at all. The pizza is sold by weight and the price was reasonable, but the pizza we ordered was cold and not very appetizing. As this place was recommended by our B&B host, we hope that we just visited during an off hour and that the service and food is good during busier...
