Mr. Zhao — Restaurant in Rome

We have ALWAYS been very keen on the place since they opened as il Padiglione delle Cicogne. We always suffered a very poor service but the food was always good. Recently the taste has changed. We asked to have all the food together but waited close to an hour. We were the second table but finished last. Nobody apologised. We had Pad Thai, Soya spaghetti with very tasteless vegs and mince Then Beef in black pepper with a very strange new taste. We planned to have an interesting sweet but were so fed up that I took a doggy bad and went home. The owner is a very talented Chef. He is very nice, polite he always recognises us even after not having seen him for a long time. Possibly because we are bilingual. IT IS A GREAT PITY. Very nice modern take on Take out food.Nothing worthy of photos really. You may need reservations depending on time. Service was prompt. No looking back though. So get up and pay your bill. If you are a tourist like us don't burn a night eating here. Make every meal count. We should have gone to Angelino's again but late night taxi and all. This was across the street. Was excited about trying this place after reading reviews. Unfortunately experience left us disappointed. Ridiculously long wait time (about an hour) for our food, and then the main dishes do not come together - which means we each ate separately. we said it would have been nicer if -after waiting so long - we could have eaten together, the waiter said " did you inform us during ordering that you wanted to eat together?"!!
